I’m laughing because when I had a gas weed trimmer I felt the same way.

And before I had a gas, I had an electric that I had to drag an extension cord around the whole yard. At the time, my parents lived next door and I did their yard, too.

Just bought one myseld. Not becuase of any environmental issue. My gas weed trimmer beeded constant carb adjustment to make it run right. 40 volt battery does my entire 80 by 200 lot front and back. And i dont feel the need to throw it, every time it bogs down and stops running.

Same with me. I swapped out all of my annoying gasoline items. I have roughly the same dimensions as you do. No more dealing with the gasoline, pulling cords, pushing buttons, wait 10 seconds, pull cord 3 times, do a 360 degree spin, pull the cord twice, and all that crap. Now I just push start. Recharge when necessary.

I have a troy bilt tractor for my yard. Back in 2008 I fell off my roof and shattered my right ankle. I pushmowed for about three years after…and it was just painful. So I got a tractor, but i love the new brushless electric motors in yard equipment. So much more efficient.

LOL, I have a Troy Bilt tractor as well. I did it because I got sick of pushing the mower back and forth a million times. An 80X200 property isn’t huge, but when there’s only push mowers with a max blade width of 22", it gets annoying.

For 20V batteries I buy the knockoff brands. For example, I bought two Worx 20V 6AH knockoffs. They’re not going to be better than their 6AH counterparts, but they last longer than the Worx 4AH batteries. The cost of 1 Worx 20V 4AH, 100 bucks. The cost of 2 Worx 20V 6AH knockoffs, 60 bucks.

At the 20V level, it’s a no brainer. At some point these companies are going to have to try to compete. Right now they’re pretending they have no competition. They’re going to have to do what the NFL did with their jerseys at some point.

Yes, several companies make Dewalt compatible batteries at a lower price. They commonly offer higher Ah performance as well.
