Honestly, he’s incorrect on this. Let them do what they want to do and tweet back with “Really? “Fact checked” with FAKE NEWS CNN?” While I agree with most of what he’s done, he’s off base here. I don’t want him signing executive orders telling a private company what they can and can’t do regarding free speech. The courts will overrule him. Just one more reason not to use Twitter for me.
A fact check doesn’t include a CNN opinion article. If you’re going to fact check, list the actual DATA. Unless you do that, you just interjected OPINION on a tweet and it’s as transparent as it gets.
As to the last part, that’s exactly what Twitter wants him to do… he connects with people through Twitter to bypass the media. If Twitter wants to be a publisher, they should go ahead and fact check, but do it correctly. If they’re just a platform, stay the hell out of people’s posts. The main issue I see here is they’re flat out WRONG. There IS a huge risk of all mail in ballots and voter fraud that will accompany it. We know full well the voter registration roles are not terribly accurate in almost every state. The way we ensure an accurate election is to require a valid ID with your address when you vote… but that will keep voter fraud to a minimum so can’t have that apparently…
Face it, the left is never going to get this, unless and until, republicans control a very large social media company and start doing it to them. Then they’ll get it.
Delaying direct payments to vulnerable families just to print his name on the check is another shameful example of President Trump’s catastrophic failure to treat this crisis with the urgency it demands.
