This is not how the First Amendment works

Obama is no longer a sitting president. What he says in a political endorsement video is now done as a private citizen. Is the example then the comment he made during the 2009 interview? What was actively done by Obama and his administration to actively impact Fox New’s ratings?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: How about Rosen?

So news agencies, like CNN, are free to question and disprove statements made by the President and his administration? Does Trump have the authority to actively impact the viewership of those that question him? What about when they’re correct in questioning him?

Rosen was never a sitting president.

 Ok, I can see we are done. Enjoy your evening.

Sounds good. Been a long day…

How do you see Trump as “actively impact[ing] the viewership of those that question him”? And is he doing something illegal?

You want some examples of Trump banning or revoking press passes?

How did CNN vs Trump work out in the legal department for Trump?

What happened with Brian Karem in court?

Doesn’t matter. Trump has largely replaced news conferences with appearances on Fox and Friends anyway.

My understanding was that Trump ousted a particular unruly grandstanding CNN reporter, not CNN per se., But CNN wanted the same princess reinstated. Ousting someone for assaulting a WH staffer seems reasonable to me.

Groundhog’s day.

Perfectly normal. Nothing to see here.

This thread. So good. Great posts.

I continue to be surprised that people willingly make embarrassing arguments on behalf of Trump.

The arguments and theories that his lawyers and DOJ lawyers have had to make on behalf of this President are “embarrassing”.

I for one find it extremely comforting that while the US crosses the 100k deaths threshold due to COVID-19, our President is laser focused on writing executive orders to deal with those uppity leftist Deep Staters at Twitter, Google and Facebook, because once again, priorities.

Must suck up to dear leader…No other pressing issues going in the country right now I guess.

Twitter fact checked, people died. Or something.

Which is the rule that basically sets carriers apart.

Well, whereas I see the problem, I really am not sure how I feel about how this should go from a practical point. If he would find a more dignified format than the one used by teenagers and those who never grew up to tell each others gossip, and by actors fans to follow their social life, then it might be a benefit. Most of the low hanging fruit for his opponents comes from little apparently ill thought out quips on his twitter account.

For Trump, the lowest common denominator aspect of Twitter is a feature, not a bug.

That’s his schtick…the lowest common denominator, the further down in the mud the better. Just like a reality show…sticks with what he knows.

Do you know for a fact he hasn’t? I’m not privy to what the NSA (or the FBI for that matter) does if the media doesn’t report it. Are you?
