This is not how the First Amendment works

Dude, you’re gonna get your card pulled. lol. I think this is a classic example of just blindly following along with Trumps rhetoric without realizing his statement is directly at odds with the typical conservative position… I don’t know anyone who wants the government intervening to regulate content on private platforms. Not anyone. People have called on the platforms themselves to self-regulate and that’s fine… it’s their platform. If people don’t like it, move on…

If that were true, you wouldn’t be against Twitter posting their own views on their own platform. We see you.

I have no idea what Trump believes about this? I’ve watched it meld with our society and see this as a necessary evil because without government intervention, a greater evil is evolving right before my eyes and it’s scaring me. In fact, it’s scaring me enough to risk my card? :sunglasses:

Actually…you’re blind to me. i don’t participate with any of these accounts on a personal level. I’ve been forced to use Facebook on a professional one but it’s handled by someone much younger than me. :sunglasses:

So, be like me and don’t participate? Im not on social media, except for a FB account so I can share pics of the kids with my family and see my deranged right-wing uncle go on nonsensical rants. lol.

Do you understand the slippery slope here?

Cool story bro. Meanwhile noone has shown where Trump was actually censored. Which is funny considering this board routinely censors posts that don’t even break TOS when certain people have a hissy fit.

I think so but…no…there’s always surprises. They’ve just become so intertwined with almost our entire society and in time, the entire society…based on the pace it’s traveled and that’s why I believe government regulations are required to ensure the neutrality for all…if…that’s possible?

Intertwined with society? Really? Who is forcing anyone to use it? Seriously.

I’ve already witnessed censorship of many conservatives on social platforms so…just stop the bull feces.

Why have you become so bitter? Seriously?

Its not intertwined with society… it’s just what a lot of people use… right now. And there are lots that don’t… like me.

I just find it odd that you’re asking the government to regulate content on a private platform.

Let’s say the government could do this right now. Would you not be concerned with consequences of that when the Dems take the WH and Senate in November?

I wonder how the WH lawyers pick which one of them gets to go to the oval and tell the president that he can’t do that.

The only ones I know that have been censored have violated the TOS. Are you aware of anyone being censored for posting content consistent with the platforms TOS?

Yeah. It’s all just one sided. Noone else ever gets censored. But hey, now it’s an issue. And your boy wasn’t even censored. Which makes it all the more hilarious.

I’m assuming this was meant for me. Let’s ignore the flagging war for a moment and simply take a look at the TTT thread. If that isn’t censorship, what is it?

It is really amusing how in 2005 having a fairness doctrine was a commie plot by the evil liberals. In 2020, not having a fairness doctrine is a commie plot by evil liberals.

Oh no, that was to Smyrna. Trump was not censored, which I find absolutely hilarious about all of this.

Whats’ the TTT thread? Haven’t been around for a bit…

TTT for TDS thread, where topics the moderators don’t like being discussed go to die.

Quote his actual words. The OP tweets didn’t say that.
“Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President, will not allow it to happen!”

The irony is incredible. (Hypocrisy is probably a better word than irony. Either way…)
