OMG it’s just a traditional, useful, multi-use and understandable saying. Nothing in your moral puffery over it makes you superior, holy cow I’ve seen everything now in faux moral overheating.

The Good Book tells you how to behave. You don’t get to use it to tell others how to behave.

I’m not telling anyone how to behave. I just find it odd.
It was a command given to the people of God, not those who aren’t. Even a cursory glance shows that God never judged the nations around Israel for using God’s name in vain.
His name isn’t even God.
