Maduro thought he was untouchable. He had some cool toys from the Russians and Chicoms. He thought Trump would back down.
Trump said what he said, and did what he said, and we went in there and blew up the toys and took Maduro out – right in front of bigwig chicom diplomats. Over and over, Trump has been doing what he said he would do.
So yes, there are Maduro minions and his own swamp in VZ. But I doubt any of them feel very safe or cocky right about now. We know where you are. Play nice … and you get to stay alive.
I most certainly do expect the situation to stabilize.

that’s not going to happen in Trump’s term. He’s fine with an authoritarian at the helm as long as they are friendly to the US. There isn’t going to be huge pressure to change regimes as long as the oil flows northward. He’ll use more political capital trying to convince the oil majors to spend billions of dollars without a US government guarantee on their investment than an election.
How? Ez-Pz. Once that drug mule is part of an organization declared a foreign terrorist organization, and that organization attempts incursions into the US, they are enemies to be repelled. A better question would be do these actions need to be reported to the Congress under the WPA. In short, the mule or anyone else in the organization can be seen as either and treated as either.

We are not “just taking their oil”, what “we” ARE doing is helping them get the oil sold at market prices and overseeing how the proceeds are spent, with a focus on making sure said proceeds are spent in a way that helps the country.
