Sorry I derailed the thread for a bit. You asked what the vision is for the GOP future. Right now, the vision for the future is still Trump. I’m surprised no one noticed this little tidbit.
So he bilked his supporters out of $300+ million dollars and he can’t even pay his own legal fees.
The GOP is still Donald Trump.

That does not impact middle class.

Of course it is. It’s expected however in certain companies in the United States.
My manager is on call 24/7. And doesn’t get a dime more. But he accepted the position with full knowledge of what was required.
Then he’s not being exploited.

Ever heard of piece work? That is what you are describing. You get paid X for each unit of work produced.
Do you get to go home early if you finish up early? If not, your salary is based on hours.
If you are regularly assigned work that takes more than your “regular hours”, you are being taken advantage of, even if you don’t want to admit it.
Working on salary is nothing like piece work. Piece work requires you to work a set number of hours, but getting paid by the number of products produced rather than by the hour. Salary is virtually never applied to production jobs.
Where did you come up with these silly notions? Are you a Union organzer?

That’s ridiculous. The only thing that has shifted jobs from hourly to salary is that we have fewer blue color production type jobs now, having shipped most of them overseas. White collar jobs have been salaried for most of a hundred years.

Funny. I could have sworn that earlier you were complaining about low hourly pay being the problem.
Supply and demand of labor. No special skills = chump change.

Piece work is a set price for a specific job.
Union organizer? No. But I have a lot of experience as a project manager.

No, piece work pay is set on the production of an individual item.
What did you produce as a manager? Were you salaried?
Why is that mutually exclusive? Our labor shortages don’t appear to be getting better. I’m just offering possible solutions to get these jobs filled.

I suppose the definition of piece work is different in Alaska.
And yes, I have had a salaried position for at least the last 38 years.

No … The definition of piece work is the same everywhere.
So you know then, you get paid the same regardless of your input and output. That’s not exploitation.

GOP vision for the next 8?
The current GOP agenda for 2022 is the same as 2016.

The intro slide was good, and then he falls back into the same old paradigm.
“Hold China accountable for COVID?” How does that make my life better in 2023? It’s not going to happen anyway.
No defund the police, but also no reform of the police state.
Still tone deaf.
Who the hell is Rodney Davis?

I haven’t read this bill, but to hold it up because “it doesn’t hold China accountable” for COVID is stupid.
This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about.
Decouple now!
