Then allow me to share my personal, conservative, financial approach to life, no matter what the national economic situation is when making a decision; if everything goes wrong, will I be ok? That…is my safety net. In reality, we have no one but ourselves…so…conserve.

I’ll share this with you when attempting to seek the American Dream…no…stinking…thinking.
It accomplishes…NOTHING BUT BAD.

Capitalism folks.
Capitalism indeed.
A wonderful economic system that has allowed the creation of wealth and the increase of the standard of living, even for people at the very bottom.

There is only one real American Dream…and it’s Dusty Rhodes. Hard times!:

peek-a-boo:
I come from a family of 10 and we were dirt poor. My folks couldn’t afford much of anything, so I worked and put myself through college. My wife and I started out with all of our belongings in the back seat of her dilapidated old car. Many friends and family were in a very similar situation 45 years ago.

What is the fairness class envy LIBs are looking for? I keep hearing about socialism, but even there a wealth gap exists. The difference being that the big Government is the 1% and everyone else lives in abject poverty. Is that what is being advocated by LIBs?
I agree with the words and spirit of the full quoted post above.

All of these would encourage the mindset…easy come, easy go…and fix nothing, while exacerbating everything.

I actually agree with the bolded points. There are some other unhelpful things that this country could stop doing.

Well, on the more liberal side of things Sanders and Warren have a ton of proposed policies that could help address that.
Beyond that there is always nationalization of companies and industries.
There’s really a lot of things we can do about wealth inequality.
This would be economic suicide.
Vietnam is currently on the path of selling off their previously nationalized industries and with each sector of Vietnam’s economy that goes private, their countries wealth and standard of living rise.
Vietnam learned the hard way socialism doesn’t work and even though they keep the name, they are rapidly shifting to a capitalistic, free market economy.

They are issues that get little to no media coverage. I’m glad we can agree on those.

There has been a recent movement against cash bail and even where it continues to exist, courts are insisting that a defendant’s wealth and income be factored into their bail amount.

Nah, the nationalization of the oil companies is a must do. They knew what they were doing and need to be relieved of their operations.

It’s good that we are making some progress on that issue.
We Baby Boomers are like the Animal House generation.
As a group we trash the planet, leave it to others to clean up, run up massive debt and are totally irresponsible health wise (smoking, drinking, eating).
And if that’s not crazy enough, in twenty years 10% of our population will control 80% of the wealth. By 2059 10% will control 90% of the wealth.
Ya’lls kids and grandkids are gonna wonder why you couldn’t see the damage coming.

They will just sit in the cells all day? or let everyone out??

End cash bail.
Uh no. Constitution calls for reasonable bail. No bail is not reasonable in most cases.

I bet they’ll get it. I don’t think they will be hating grandpa and grandma for not seeing through the snake oil salesman scam.
