States can’t print money, as long as the Federal government can print money whenever it wants it will always be more important than the state.

The left deserves blame because just like with every political movement like ever the moment they won they became what they fought.

The support for government control, corporate censorship, and fighting any attempt to try to push the pendulum back to the middle proves you right. The left is not blameless.

That is only a bandaid.

Eventually that will not be enough.

The entire western world is drowning in unplayable debt.

Not to change he subject but can you say Ukraine. Very similar circumstances.

Only good thing that came out of Jan 6th is they needed a wake up call…sadly they ignored that call and did exact opposite. Now it’s all about consolidating their new found powers.

They can stop taking it…. :joy::joy:. I made myself laugh.

IMO they were using Covid in attempt to regain that control that they lost when Trump was elected.

What new found power though. The prosecutions, government attempt to control information isn’t new.

Similarly not change the subject but again what the Michigan disaster of a prosecution of guys trying to allegedly kidnap the governor doesn’t just show how bad government actors cna be but it also shows that there is no doubt that some not all those Muslims who were allegedly ready willing and able to attack this country from within were most likely entrapped.

What my point in all of this is - that things that have been true forever are being exposed a bit more and not in history books like with Hoover but in real time….

Much of the ignorant electorate doesn’t understand that. They live for the moment!

The trust of members of the court in the other members of the court may well be eroded, but I don’t see how peoples faith in the court would be affected.
He is kidding himself if he thinks anybody thought of the court as anything but nine politicians in robes anyway. I mean, some people pretended to when decisions were going their way.

Everything from Patriot act onward.

Government biggest fear is losing control over the internet…so they use interest as justification for their power grab.

I think he’s pointing to Roberts, but that’s just my intuition.

Court has been infiltrated at multiple levels…so who knows.

Like redefining terms into whatever you like that day to have your way?

Yep like freedom fries.

Or communism

Or socialism

Or woman

he’s talking about the justices fidelity to the traditions of the institution. which is now broken. what justice is going to discuss with a justice on the other side of an issue openly and honestly when they know their discussions could be made public if the other side decides political pressure is the way to change votes instead of private collegial discussions between peers looking to persuade?

this leak will create a more adversarial relationship between the justices. the days of ginsburg and scalia are over.

I dunno. The government spied on its populace without a hint of a warrant for a good part of the 20th century. The power was always there.

Again i think we are confusing loss of the consent of the governed with information on government overreach being more exposed. I am not sure if i am phrasing that correctly.

There is zero difference between Clinton and jfk womanizing. None and yet….

The reality today is that there is no more national or cultural unity, and we are becoming more Balkanized. Consider this hypothetical today vs years ago. When Pearl Harbor happened did not the nation come together? Imagine something like that happened today. Instead of a nation coming together I see the following: Debates on whether we deserved it or not. Who’s to blame for it. And few, if any, of our young men and women wanting anything to do with fighting for this country.

No it won’t.

We had a great economy 2017-19 and this was still happening.

The rioting? No

The rise in crime? No

Government being government? Yes.

Which part was still happening?
