The Curious Case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia (Part 2)

Yes … allegedly. All you have is Garcia’s claims of abuse. Nothing else corroborates that claim.

And you have no more idea if Garcia is being truthful than some stranger you exchange a few words with on the sidewalk. You believe because you want to believe, and that’s that.

When you rent a hotel room, do you call it “my” hotel room?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

You do when you’re trying to score with the lady in the hotel bar.

here are the facts.

  1. garcia claims.
  2. known human rights abuses at CECOT.
  3. bukele denials

Allan

That’s it?

That’s not only not corroboration, that’s not even circumstantial coincidence.

the first two are correlated.

the third backs your position.

Allan

Coincidence is not correlation.

not a coincidence that garcia claims what is already known to happen.

its a correlation.

Allan

No it isn’t.

The only correlation is that Garcia temporarily spent a few weeks there isolated from the general population in a cell with a couple dozen of his countrymen.

but there is conjecture that garcia was subject to abuse while at CECOT.

the preponderance of evidence is my side of the argument.

not yours.

you choose to take Bukele side, i take garcia’s and human rights watch side.

you know the side of where the evidence points.

Allan

So the whole thing is bits and pieces assembled in your mind that you think adds up to Garcia is telling the truth and everyone else is lying. Gotcha.

not bits and pieces

here is the USDOJ report from 2022.

Allan

I’m sure it’s gotten much better since then.

That means nothing. Video evidence please to refute Buekele.

The chips just keep falling. Trump inc has been lying the entire time and the MAGA wing CECOT contractors just sold them out. They defied and ignored court orders claiming they had no control.

Salvadoran authorities, responding to questions from the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that “jurisdiction and legal responsibility” for the detainees rests solely with U.S. officials. The deportations occurred in March despite a judge’s order to halt the flights.

If they maintain jurisdiction and legal responsibility, the men they imprisoned are still protected by the constitution. Peek’s ridiculous fever dream just went up in smoke.

That’s nice. But it proves nothing about the veracity of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. At best it proves that there is a possibility that he’s telling the truth. But then, we already knew that, even without the information on the prison itself.

In the opinion of the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. That and $4 will buy you a latte at Starbucks.

Funny your first response is they are lying. It’s in the written response from El Salvador to the UN.

You might want to read that again.

It’s not the opinion of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

It’s the answers El Salvadoran officials gave him, in writing.

Are the officials from El Salvador lying?
