Justified by you. By anyone. There is no defined “whom.”
What authority does anyone have to decide what is right and wrong? What authority does anyone have to recourse when they feel they have been wronged?
Sovereign: acting or done independently and without outside interference.
Not “by” Sotto, “to”. I understand you want to justified by North Korea. To whom do you want them to explain. Would “We did it because we could” satisfy you, because that’s a justification.
Exactly what I’m asking you. What authority do you have to decide right and wrong for North Korea? Or me for that matter?
Definition of sovereignty
1a : supreme power especially over a body politic
b : freedom from external control : AUTONOMY
c : controlling influence
So based on that definition, to whom is a sovereign nation required to justify its actions?
Republic. Where the sovereignty lies.
Other sovereign nations. I promise this isn’t as difficult as you’d like it to be.
Condemning it would be a start. Not diminishing it and making excuses. I’m not expecting a solution to the problem or massive retaliation. I do expect our country to denounce missile launches by North Korea.
Has the US never tested their missiles by firing them beyond their own borders?
Condemning it would be a start.
What moral authority does the US have for condemning a sovereign nation for testing its weapons beyond its own borders. Has the US never done the same?

Yeah that’s exactly the same. The US is exactly the same as NK.

We can debate this until the cows come home.
It doesn’t address the question of the OP.
What has Donald Trump accomplished in North Korea?
Yesterday NK launched two missiles in a new test.
North Korea tests ballistic missiles, U.S. still hopeful for talks | Reuters
The Reuters report provides a clear synopsis of what is known about this test including the fact that it puts future talks in doubt.
To all those Trump supporters that used the fact that NK had not tested any missiles since Trump gave the NK regime the legitimacy on the world stage they craved, what do you say now?
Trump marching off to NK has achieved what exactly? Trump got his historic first by placing his feet over the border but apart from feeding his ego how has Trump reduced the threat of NK?
Trump ‘failed’ to give them 150 Billion dollars like someone we know gave Iran.
I can just imagine the tour guide in 50 years. And this, kids, is a picture of the time a sitting president thought it would be a good idea to shake the hand of a brutal dictator and cozy up to him.
Right next to a pic where Obama sits in a church front row for 20 years and the ‘pastor’ yells ‘God D…m America’…???
Yeah…I can see that.
Brought back Otto safe and sound? nope that didnt happen
At least Trump didn’t shoot him with a drone.

I see. So the US and other nations should stand back and let other countries do what they want. North Korea gets to shoot missiles and develop their nuclear program. In kind, Iran has every right to develop their nuclear program. Syria can kill its own people as they see fit. If central African countries want to kill their own because of religion, that’s their right.
That sum it up? Or do you have some incoherent schema that coincides with the biddings of Trump.

So in that case, every sovereign nation can simply do what they want. We have no authority to ask them to justify their actions. Why even bother with NK or Iran? We should stay out of their business.
What do you think the word “sovereign” means Sotto?
Where would such an authority come from? We can ask. And they can tell us to ■■■■ off.
Why indeed? Perhaps we should.
So you believe every country has the right to do whatever they want. Launch missiles, build nuclear weapons, kill their own people. We have no authority to say or do anything.
Are you advocating we become the world’s policeman?
That’s a change of direction for dems/libs/progs no?

So you think every nation should have whatever weapons they want? Nuclear, biological, chemical, it makes no difference.
The US, UN and other entities policy of preventing weapon proliferation has been in place for decades and is neither Democrat nor Republican specific.

Except for Iraq, oh, and Iran…
Do you not remember the state of hysteria in the msm regarding NK before Trump was elected? Now people just have a wait and see attitude. No one is stressed about NK at the moment. Well done, President Trump.

The US has imposed economic sanctions on NK. Those sanctions remain.
Do you think those sanctions say to NK “You can do whatever you want. We don’t care”?
Do you think those sanctions are useless and should be lifted?

Speak for yourself. And most certainly don’t speak for South Korea or Japan. Unless you plan on the US ignoring its mutual defense treaties.

No. The US needs to continue to condemn missile testing by North Korea. North Korea launches 2 missiles, one landed in Japanese territorial water, then tells South Korea the launches were a “solemn warning.” The US responds by downplaying the launches and even justifying them? Ridiculous.

It looks like the Democrats are on the arms manufacturers’ lobbyist list these days. They have an unhealthy desire to bomb the proverbial out of other countries. In fact, one of their own, Swallowswell, wants to nuke gun owners who insist on not handing their guns to their goverment.

Sure. Hyperbole and falsehoods. I guess you think those help your case.

I’m just pointing out that although Democrats and other globalists whine about Trump’s actions, they have no coherent workable alternative strategies to offer, but only virtue-signalling rhetoric and undisciplined outrage. What is your coherent alternative recommended strategy to rein in NK?
