That doesn’t keep them from playing what they call the “black national anthem “.
This all stems from the whole BLM fraud.
Which in and of itself is racist.

Okay . . .
It’s almost as if the NFL is made up of a diverse group of people with different beliefs and political opinions.

I am sorry that the left sees dividing the nation as a route to power.

I’m sorry that some people just can’t let go of that bone, even in a football thread. Enjoy the game!

Truth bothersome?
Don’t wanna discuss racism in a football thread, maybe the NFL shouldn’t be playing the “black national anthem “ before their games. Huh?
It’s ■■■■■■■ annoying. We’re just trying to talk about football not some bull ■■■■ kneeling crap that went away years ago. Good riddance to that nonsense, but a good way to bring it back is to keep harping on it.

Mealy mouth bull ■■■■ ! C’mon man! Quit with the stinking politics!

Just pointing out that for every Kaepernick in the NFL there’s a Christian McCaffrey. Not everyone agrees with the kneeling, so boycotting the league over the actions of a few is silly. In my opinion.
Sorry, I have no control over what the NFL does.
Never said ya did.
Was just answering to your sniveling that politics is being discussed in a football thread.
I agree. Politics and football should be separated. But the NFL thinks otherwise. Therefore you have “oppressed” millionaires kneeling and the moronic BNA.

Then don’t watch it.

i heard the other day. typical 3.5hr broadcast of a game contained 18 minutes of actual football. you will see a lot more commercials than football that is for sure.
its one of the reason in tune into the redzone during the regular season.
no commercials.
I’ve tested this already using condensed games. I’ve timed how long a game was from snap to whistle. Actual playing time is between 11 and 13 minutes. Other than players in motion, the rest of the time they’re just standing around. This is why it always makes me laugh when these guys get out of breath.
I’ve played a lot of sports in my life. Football was the easiest to keep from tiring. Especially organized football. Besides baseball that is.
Heck, baseballers won’t even play in the rain.

Sure it did. And I don’t agree with not taking 3 when you can, but it’s how they got there. And I can’t fault him for doing what got him there, even if it bit him in the ass in the end. Or maybe kinda sort of bit him in the ass in the end had they made the not guaranteed field goal.
Yep. Not making the field goal has the same effect as not making the first down. But the first down has the potential for 7 points, whereas the FG is only 3.
What is the probability of the team gaining 1 yard on downs 1-3? Surly that comes into play when the Coach is deciding whether or not to go for it on the 4th.
The only issue with probabilities is they are based on aggregate stats and so the probability becomes your odds of making it against a typical team.
But when you’re in the NFCCG, you’re not facing a typical team…you’re facing a very good to great team that is going to be fired up to stop you.
It is possible Campbell did not have faith in Badgley at that range…we do need to remember Badgely spent most of the year on the practice squad. He had an outlier bad year in 2020…not taking that into account he was 80% recently from 40-49.
But he also kicks in a dome and this was outside.
This is the only slack I will give Campbell is it is quite possible he thought the safer play was actually to go for it because he didn’t trust his kicker from 45 and 48.
The bigger mistake and it’s funny it’s the one not talked about, was running on third and goal at the end of the game. There is no excusing that call because if you are losing late by two scores, you simply cannot call your timeouts while on offense trying to make up the first of two scores.
My take here is Campbell should have kicked the FG to make it a 7 point game after the play where Goff failed in the first and goal pass.
That really was the only way to preserve a decent amount of time and have all three timeouts so if your defense gets a stop, you have one last chance.
To be fair, there are hardly any coaches in the NFL who would do this…I see this mistake all the time when teams are trailing by 10 late…,they expend far too much time and effort trying to get the TD first, rather than kick the FG as soon as they are within 95+% make probability range to save time.
It’s funny…as soon as that Lions’ receiver stepped OOB at the one and a half yard line instead of scoring, I knew the Lions were done because they were so close to a TD they would not settle for a FG.
Excellent commentary. Now do what would have happened if they had made the first down?

Just try to consider what sub-forum you are in.
This annual thread always reads like a foreign language to me. But for some reason this thread makes me happy.
Dont watch the superbowl but i think the Monday after should be a national holiday.
Historically at work the number of call ins would spike but since moving to work at home that is no longer an issue.
Super Bowl Monday remains the only day I’ve never worked in my life. I never wanted to think about getting up early for work after being up half the night. Now that I work the midnight shift it’s impossible. I’m expected at work by 10:30 pm Sunday night.

There’s the rub. The NFL went there. You have to expect people to talk about it.

sorry for upsetting anyone who wants to further divide the country by indicating there’s one anthem and one nation, as indicated in the national pledge of allegiance
As a lifelong 49er Fan I am pulling for them on Sunday.
Both teams are very different then they were 4 years ago.
I am hoping that Kyle will have a great game plan. Although Andy and Pat are a great coach and QB team.
I hope it is a good game. So far the playoffs have not disappointed.
