The fifth is refusing to answer questions. And Lois Lerner plead the fifth more than once. Lets throw her in jail until she talks and spills all the dirt on what went on. We know she must have been hiding something or she wouldn’t have refused to tell what she knew.
It doesn’t matter how easy or innocuous the question is. As a matter of principle the executive is upholding the principle of executive privilege the existence of which has been held by all recent Presidents and upheld by the Supreme Court.
If it doesn’t apply in a certain instance, let the courts sort it out.
The doctrine of absolute privedlge for all of the executive branch has not been claimed by any previous Presidents, and has never been upheld by the supreme court.
No President has asserted as wide a priviledge as Trump is trying to do - and the last President to come close was Nixon, and he got shot down hard, 9-0.
No President has been as harassed over imagined smoke to the degree of Trump and therefore had as much justification for a claim of privilege in order to keep the executive going.
Again…the courts, ultimately the Supreme Court, will decide.
