Having once been rear ended by a driver without auto insurance, I don’t care about whether they wanted to have insurance. I WANT THEM TO HAVE INSURANCE!!!
In instances where people refuse to take responsibility for the impact their actions have on others; that’s why we have government. If you are going to argue, for instance, the the zoning regulations that prevent my neighbor from operating a slaughterhouse in their home are restricting what they want, then you reach a conclusion that any government action is socialism.
Such a conclusion is silly.
At least you won’t have to worry about driving an electric car then,

I still want to own another stick shift. Those were the days of manual
