Someone please tell me - how is a wall going to deter this

what’s funny is drone technology is gonna fly by (pun intended) wall technology WAY before any mud fence can even be constructed. hell, we’ll probably be 3D printing them by then.

WE’RE THE KINGS OF TECHNOLOGY. USE TECHNOLOGY YOU GOVERNMENT IDIOTS!!!

It’s funny that you think displaying an inability to discern the difference between a few hundred feet around a house and thousands of miles around a country is going to cause people to see things your way.

Anyone convinced by cratic’s argument here? Step right up and share your story:

Ah, but in THAT instance a man betrayed the whole of Christian Europe by selling his artillery weapon to the heathen.

The hotly hyped pre-election “invasion” is sitting at a checkpoint waiting in line.

The best is the enemy of good enough.

Eh it was more than that.

The fall of Constantinople was inevitable due to the events of the Fourth Crusade and the declaration of the Latin Empire. The city’s defenses languished as the Latins fought the various Byzantine successor states over several decades. By the time the Byzantines took back control of the city it was in very poor condition. They did what they could to build it back up but it was no match for the Ottomans.

I lay the majority of the blame on Christian Europeans who sacked their own city decades earlier. Leaving it to be taken quite easily by the Ottomans. Empires die and fall, others rise. The Ottomans suffered the same fate as Byzantium in 1918.

The Ottomans were fairly civilized, though. They could have leveled the whole city and built on top of it like the previous Caliphates had done to their victims. Instead they preserved most of it, modifying some aspects but leaving others intact.

If the wall is not going to work, and only cost 5 billion, why do dems fear it so much?..Just pass it and laugh, then…lol!

Obviously the answer is an artistically designed steel dome over the whole US.

Why don’t you guys want border security that’s effective?

which is walking through the front door and how the vast majority of “illegals” have done and will do

Because unlike repubs we don’t want to waste money.

It wouldn’t. What it would do is to stop the 2000 people who illegally enter on the ground every day.

Yeah, and how many years ago and fewer advances of technology was that? Sheesh.

I actually like the germ of that approach. It’d be so much less expensive than a stupid useless wall and make so much more sense.

If you bothered to read the article you’d see that they do.

You build it really, really, REALLY high!

Quite simple really.

Build it so high they can’t fly over it!

Why don’t we ask the new acting Chief of Staff has to say on the matter…Mick your thoughts please!

“And by the way, the bottom line is the fence doesn’t stop anybody who really wants to get across,” Mulvaney said in the 2015 interview. “You go under, you go around, you go through it. And that’s what the ranchers tell us, is that they don’t need a fence. What they need is more manpower, and more technology, and more willingness to enforce the law as it exists today. There are parts of our border that are secure and parts of our border that are not. A lot of that comes down to whether or not we are just willing to enforce the law as it exists. So it’s easy to tell people what they want to hear, ‘build the darn fence, vote for me.’”

Yes, a few people would still make it across… that means we shouldn’t do something to stop a huge portion of the traffic? Come on folks, seriously. We KNOW it’s not 100% effective, nothing is. That said, it sure would be nice to do something to deter the number of sexual assault victims being brought here illegally. There’s quite a few things we need to do, not just a wall but it IS part of the fix.

The fence is a tool to aid in the process. Certainly makes it EASIER to stop them.
