Yellow Springs just passed a ballot initiative to allow illegals to vote by the way.
Are you a poor white person who attends KKK rallies?

Establish a new norm?
Maybe. Establish the ability to say something shocking and disagreeable to many and not have your life ruined, your career canceled, etc.
Note, I didn’t call for him to be censored or fired or boycotted.
Then it wasn’t directed at you.
Just clarifying that I hadn’t done it.
Are you a poor white person who attends KKK rallies?
Nope, but I am a white person, who has family that are poor and would never attend a klan rally.

Then that wasn’t intended for you either.
If the shoe doesn’t fit, why try to squeeze a foot into it?
He also claimed he saved a dying town, how was Yellow Springs dying? His shows started this year.

They were operating in the black before he did any shows.

I can only object to racism if it is directed at me? Had no idea.

Can he?
Can he?
Can he what? Object to racism? Sure. Usually goes over better if you don’t couple it with your own racism though.

Ok.
…
The paragraph:
I would implore everybody who’s celebrating a day to remember, it’s good to be a humble winner. Remember when I was here four years ago? Remember how bad that felt? Remember that half the country right now still feels that way. Please remember that. Remember that for the first time in the history of America, the life expectancy of white people is dropping. Because of heroin, because of suicide. All these white people out there that feel that anguish, that pain, that man, they think nobody cares. Maybe they don’t. Let me tell you something. I know how that feels. I promise you, I know how that feels. You’re a police officer. Every time you put your uniform on, you feel like you’ve got a target on your back. You’re appalled by the ingratitude that people have when you would risk your life to save them. Oh, man. Believe me. Believe me, I know how that feels. Everyone knows how that feels. But here’s the difference between me and you. You guys hate each other for that. And I don’t hate anybody. I just hate that feeling. That’s what I fight through. That’s what I suggest you fight through. You got to find a way to live your life. Got to find a way to forgive each other. Got to find a way to find joy in your existence in spite of that feeling. And if you can’t do that — come get these ■■■■■■ lessons.
Great message. Not comedy. Not a comedian. Of course the last sentence is what is going to be fixated on by anyone white and not Woke, which was his intended audience. He used to to drive the message home, he may have drowned it out.
I personally don’t have a problem with it. It does assume that only black people are victims of a couple of things, but that is his context. And a price paid for being a majority.
That is a “chickens coming home to roost message”.
The last paragraph wasn’t meant to be comedy. That’s him tying together much of the rest f the monologue into a message. Isn’t see it as a “chickens coming home to roost”, more of “hey, what you’re dealing with is what black people have had to deal with while keeping a smile on our face for a long time.”
Oh and his complaint about the zoom meeting, yes Dave, community meetings happen when someone wants a variance to use an agriculturally zoned property commercially, and they approved the variance. Obvious racists.

I’m not sure what your point is.
What’s the difference?

“Chickens…” refers to bad things done in the past coming back to haunt you. I’m not interpreting Chappelle that way. The last paragraph doesn’t ring like that to me.
An example appropriate for the chicken reference would be the US arming people to fight our enemy only to have those same weapons turned against us years later.
Amazing to me that not one person in that audience had the decency and courage to stand up and call it out for what it was. I certainly would have.
Wouldn’t happen. That’s not the SNL audience, they know exactly who Dave Chapelle is.

Ok. I disagree.
Only libs are allowed to be racist…others need not apply.
We enjoyed Chappelle in 2019 when his Sticks and Stones special hit Netflix.
Did everyone forget?
The innate shock and awe factor to Chappelle’s standup should be obvious to anybody reading a description of the Netflix special, as should why it has offended so many. Sticks & Stones is designed to enrage those it targets while delighting the many who agree with the comedian. That it’s created such a controversy isn’t just unsurprising, it’s the desired reaction. Indeed, it’s fair to say Chappelle isn’t so much targeting the groups mentioned as it is those who sympathize with them.

This is what successful comic do.

When arguing racism with libs always remember they call this
racist.
The problem I have is that the broadcast media (admittedly and thankfully a dwindling portion of media) represents only the left and the Democrats. As in the cheers in the anti Trump statements. The assumption is that “we” are against Trump or Republican views. In this case, “we” ignores, based off the last election, 49% of the American people.
HOw did it come to pass that 95% of media is absolutely against 49% of the public, as if though they were some foreign invading army?
