There was a time when no immigrant, legal or illegal or even seeking citizenship, were permitted to use social programs. It was grounds for an instant boot.

The likelihood of being or becoming a “public charge” was one of the reasons immigrants arriving at Ellis Island were rejected entry into the United States.

Of course, this is a common sense approach to immigration, a merit based system, and was likewise the thinking of our Founders!

Let us recall what Representative BURKE says during our Nations` first debate on a RULE OF NATURALIZATION, FEB. 3RD, 1790

Mr. BURKE thought it of importance to fill the country with useful men, such as farmers, mechanics, and manufacturers, and, therefore, would hold out every encouragement to them to emigrate to America. Unfortunately, there is a Fifth Column movement in the country, with Obama’s fingerprints on it, which wishes to flood the United States with the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low and unskilled populations of others countries which will be dependent upon government cheese and have a vested interest in voting for socialist type politicians [social democrats] who promise to keep the free cheese wagon coming their way. Without a financially dependent voting block in America, our social democrat party politicians would be kicked out of office. And this is why they conspire to create violent protests around the country against common sense and merit based immigration policy, and likewise protest deporting the financially dependent illegal entrants which they need to keep themselves in power.

all these rules that are supposed to ensure that incoming have the ability to care for themselves have obvious benefits to today’s citizens. But there another benefit that future citizens will benefit from. When the legal immigrants came in the 19th and 20th, they struggled… very much. The struggle built character. And that character reached its zenith in “the greatest generation”. This is what we want… the raw material of a great generation… not some whiney welfare grubs.

Importing other country’s poverty stricken populations, whom, upon entry into the United States become a “public charge” dependent upon taxpayer financed economic needs, is a suicidal path the United States cannot afford, especially when in debt to the tune of over $ 125 TRILLION considering unfunded debt liabilities.

I know our Fifth Column open border crowd leadership’s desire is to fill our nation with a massive financially dependent voting block who will have a vested interest in voting for socialist politicians who will promise to keep and enlarge the free cheese wagon coming their way. And that is the sinister reason behind their love affair with opening our borders to the poverty stricken populations of Central America ___ their desired is to change America into the very kind of country the poverty stricken populations are fleeing from.
