Should the City of Chicago sue Jussie Smollett for damages?

was this at Pizza gate?..

Nope. At Epstein’s place in NYC.

The charges weren’t dropped, it was a plea deal. He agreed to 2 days of community service and to forfeit his 10k bond in a plea deal.

I never had you pegged as being naive before.

Two words: Barrack Obama

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

And in exchange for that, the charges were dropped.

Normally, a plea deal involves pleading guilty to a lesser charge. That did not happen in this case, as I understand it.

Chicago PD is pissed off enough to drop all of their files on the case to the internet.

Well, its being reported that her former chief of staff may well have contacted the Chicago AG about the case at Michelle’s request. Its also being reported that some in the CPD think that conversation had something to do with the dropped charges.

Do you have a link that shows it was at Michelle Obama’s “request” to support this claim?

Who is doing this reporting?

I double read the report(s) and it looks like I was wrong. Tchen was the friend, not Obama. My bad. It doesnt look like there’s any Michelle connection outside of Tchen being her chief of staff.

No worries. That was everything I read as well. Hence my curiosity of what I may had been missing.

Yeah, looks like the proximity of the word “friend” to “Michelle Obama” caused my brain to fart out an errant connection during the skim read, lol.

Against a court order? That would bot be a smart choice to make as a law enforcement personel.

It seems the Chicago PD dump (fulfilling a FOIA request) is what led to the order. They haven’t dumped anything since then.

Happens my friend. We’ve all done it. And it’s not like this situation is on the “up-and-up” anyways.

He was taxed that much?? Really?

Yes, so really, it looks more like a bribe, 10k and the charges just go poof.

Update: Chicago has sent Smollett a bill of $130,000 for costs related to the investigation of his claims.

I assume that legal action could follow if Smollett refuses to pay the bill.

Good luck getting a judgement…
