Top Democrats in Pennsylvania are maneuvering to run against Sen. John Fetterman in a 2028 primary contest, threatening to tear the party apart in the biggest battleground state in the nation.

Why it matters: Democrats haven’t flipped a GOP Senate seat since Fetterman did it in 2022. He’s still popular with Pennsylvania voters, even as Democrats turn on him over his softened approach to President Trump.

Potential Democratic challengers are already bashing Fetterman — and each other — years ahead of schedule.
Some Democratic officials are openly contemplating running against Fetterman or keeping the door open to a Senate bid in the event he retires.

Connor Lamb is already stepping up.

My concern is that Big John decides to not run.

I have completely changed my opinion of him.

Local paper OP ED is hilariously tone deaf proclaiming the Democrat party does not have a hive mind and essentially calling on democrats to primary Fetterman because he met with President Trump, Works with McCormack in the Senate, and has been a STRONG supporter of Israel.

The OP writer, a Ms Ramirez, even admits she is a nagging bitch, so funny

Any one of these, though, could have been forgiven. Sen. Fetterman could have become someone like West Virginia’s former Sen. Joe Manchin, a moderate who appealed to the centrist concerns of the working class and represented their interests.

The problem is that it all adds up. And in response, he routinely dismisses all criticisms against him as unfair and isolates himself further. One gets the impression that he dislikes his job, dislikes the people who elected him to office, and wants to be left alone.

One gets the impression that John Fetterman would rather be on vacation, away from all the nagging voices out there, including my own.

She overlooks the fact that Fetterman defeated Conner Lamb once already and rather handily and is certain to do so again with independent and republican support more than making up the difference the nagging do nothings on the antifa wing who abandon him.

I do sense Big John is gaining strength and political capital as he grows his national footprint.

Read it here.

Which is why Democrats want to primary him.
Purity over retaining a Senate seat.

Interesting. Josh Shapiro not on speaking terms with Big John Fetterman. Over an old parole board vote of all things.

Josh should be thanking Big John for his steadfast support of Israel and effort to sign the clean CR.

Interesting article.

his body is 20 years older than his chronological age. Already going McConnell with it.

Luckily for the Senator, he has good health insurance and doesn’t have to worry about skyrocketing premiums.

Makes sense but I don’t believe the Left has enough discipline to think logic.
Their obscession about Trump will ruin everything.

Fetterman has a good chance to try to salvage what’s left of the D. Party. If he can just gather enough cool heads to start it all.

Also if he can fight off the hyenas that are raising a lot of noise like AC and the other big mouth that just can’t stop. One that is “done picking cotton”.

Is that AOC you’re referencing there? I see her as the GOPs equivalent of MTG. I think MTG has see how successful AOC has become via bomb-throwing. It’s all she has. MTG is in the same boat of meaninglessness without bomb-throwing.

I wonder what would happen if these two ended up side-by-side.

got another 3 years to go. Wonder if he will even run again. Doesn’t seem to be the career politician type and he’s way over the political BS in Congress.

OR
He could be so disgusted by the party corruption he does run again as a voice of reason.

Will be interesting to see what he does.
