SCOTUS Appointment 2022

How is my question silly?

You aren’t listening. I am saying it doesn’t have to be a woman or a black person.

No, he doesn’t. He said the pick will be female and black.

And qualified. I mean… he’s not nominating Oprah or Michelle Obama

The black nation is over represented in active judges by 3%. Latinos are under represented by about 12%.

Maybe a good leveling would be to hold off on black nominations for a few years and favor Latinos.

Of course if we move to a Norway-type competitive track system, it could become problematic.

Brandon’s commitment to choosing a black female is at best AA.

There are no qualifications. Well, other than race and gender.

Affirmative Action equity.

 Amazing.

So are white men…

Today and for the entire existence of the United States.

Then why not Michele Obama or Oprah?

Why does it matter what anyone looks like ?

F.e. if you had a child who needed heart surgery, would your primary interest in choosing a surgeon be the color of their skin ?

Are you saying Reagan and Bush were wrong for starting this tradition? And if so…why?

Why did it matter for the first 200 years of the court?

Yes, absolutely.

Because what one looks like is infinitely unimportant as to what they bring to the job they are hired for (unless that job is acting a particular role in a movie).

Also - if you had a child who needed heart surgery, would your primary interest in choosing a surgeon be the color of their skin ?

Did it ? If it really did, then it was obviously wrong and racist.

Are you sure? Who designed the system?

Interesting that the black President nominated a… what was he again?

Why not?

Did it?

100% sure. White men.

Lol. If he nominated a black guy… conservatives heads would have exploded.

Then it is not possible for them to be disproportionately represented.

Did conservatives get him elected?

This method of establishing a racial and gender litmus test for a specific nomination doesn’t actually indicate anything about the candidate themselves, as it actually obscures proper consideration of their actual pertinent qualifications. It does speak volumes about the judgement of the individual selecting these superficial traits, as the primary factors for nomination, and the racist and sexist attitudes of those advocating for same. And this will leave a stench over the nominee, no matter how qualified they actually happen to be.
