If Johnson ran for governor of Florida next cycle, he’d win by ten points minimum. He was on Miami’s national championship team, he was a pro wrestler (for the Panhandle vote), he’s one of the biggest actors on Earth with a hundred percent name ID and he is insanely charismatic.

He’s also very clearly preparing for politics for when he retires from acting.

His charisma alone would win him an election.

Dwane “the Rock” Johnson in my opinion has nothing to gain with a Harris-Biden win, but he is of course entitled to his opinion. Johnson is a Pac Islander. Harris’ persecution of Pac Islanders in California as a prosecutor along with other minorities is puzzling; as to why these groups are enamored with Harris. I would think those groups would detest the possibility of someone like that close to the presidency.

I don’t wish ill against any entertainer who says/does something I disagree with.

As you pointed out in your OP, the entertainment industry is essentially a monolithic bloc. It just goes with the territory. I neither credit nor discredit an art or skill or act based on other things the personality does. If I like the product, I consume it.

What I don’t get is the level of political credibility so many people seem to place on entertainers, athletes, performers, etc. They probably know less about the issues than do the people hanging on their statements. It’s often the blind leading the blind.
