I think its perfectly normal to defend your family in public. No one here would do any different. No matter what my kids I will defend them publicly and have. Behind closed doors and within the fsmily the conversations are very different.

Indeed. It would not have been inappropriate IMO for the House to have checked that the DOJ was reviewing any transactions that looked suspicious.
