While Moore’s research finds a greater crash risk, his study does not say if the increase in collisions in the three states were directly caused by drivers who were high.
The study also did not look at highway fatality rates in the states that legalized marijuana.
So basically, worthless study and worthless article that doesn’t prove your suggestion that any of this is due to rec pot.
No, if you bothered reading the subsequent reports, the point is the initial research appeared to show only a temporary increase, or simply an unreleased increase. it would takes years to have any real conclusion.
“After crunching the numbers, the institute said collision claims since marijuana was legalized are up 16 percent in Colorado, 6.2 percent in Washington and 4.5 percent in Oregon.“
also
“Colorado has had legal pot sales the longest and it is showing the greatest effect,” said Moore. “Meanwhile, Oregon has had pot sales for the shortest amount of time, so its increase is the lowest“
You directly stated that rec pot is damaging to society, with an increase in auto crashes in rec pot states as proof. And the study in the article you posted explicitly does not show anything but a correlation between rec pot and the increase in auto crashes.
Cut the ■■■■■■■■ games about mind reading trying to pretend you never said what you directly posted.
I cherry-picked nothing. Neither of the two quotes you just cited show a link between rec pot and those crashes. The article does not prove that rec pot is the reason for the increase in crashes, and it SPECIFICALLY states that it can not make that connection. Which is exactly what I cited. What you posted does not override what I posted, because the study DOES NOT attempt to show a link between rec pot and auto crashes, other than correlation. Do correlation/causation need to be explained to you?
