If they fail to meet them then not only the existing tariffs but also the heretofore planned threaten acceleration in tariffs which the Chinese would cripple their economy if enacted.
They already had more trouble than they could afford and no way to solve with the threat to the food chain and malnutrition resulting.
China cannot begin to meet their protein needs without our feed grains or provide a healthy, balanced diet with their own production.
Mass malnutrition and eventually starvation have inspire revolutions and external conflicts sine the first cavemen fought over hunting and foraging rights.
Most wars in history boiled down to resources, not ideology or nationalism.
Not the least bit likely as the campaign will expose what an extremist and dictatorial meddler in people’s lives.

Not until the Chinese prove they are in compliance with the new deal so we can trust that they will continue the deescalation and reverse course.
They’ve never proven in the past to be at all reliable.
We’ve always had them over the food barrel though and finally someone on our side figured it out and used it to pigeonhole them and not only bring them back to the table but to deescalate and resume sales removing the agricultural blocks.
China plans in terms of decades and centuries and wont’ hesitate for a moment to lie about short term agreements while working towards the long term goal.
That Person was DT, it’s what he campaigned and won on, and is accomplishing and it’s one of the main reason’s he’s very likely to win reelection in spite of “The Resistance” trying to demonize him to hell and back and remove him from office since nothing else was working.
