Question for forum libs

Amen!

With another question.

When archeologists open the pit where this person is buried, their analysis of the remains (and the DNA it contains) will say that a male is buried there. The tombstone might have indications of a female (such as a name), but the archeologists will know it was a male buried there.

“Engineered reality” say it all.

And it says “delusion.”

And that is a very good point. There will be no evidence of a missing penis. The skeleton will clearly be that of a male.

Ummmmm.

That is delusional.

There is reality and there is fiction.

People cannot “engineer “ their own reality.

Well, they can engineer THEIR “reality”, but it’s not the reality of the world around them.

I disagree. That is where the delusion is.

In the idea that people somehow create their own reality.

That’s what I was saying.

It is totally unfair to all biological women…PERIOD! If I’m wrong, then name a female that transitioned into a male and has beaten males in competition? The fact that there are no examples of this in all the world, proves it’s unfair. Anyone supporting this should be ashamed for their blatant, “Virtuous” ignorance that’s truly hurting biological women.

Ok. Misunderstood

The Right has done a fine job in framing this issue, because folks have an inherent view of what is fair and not fair. And on its face, a biologic male undergoing transition to female has an inherent advantage over women their same age when it comes to competitive sports. With some exceptions of course, you don’t see trans females competing in figure skating or gymnastics, they would fare poorly.

But bike riding? Golf? Volleyball? Swimming? Sure, they would thrive if they had talent.

In my humble opinion their wish to compete damages their very existence and the lives of other trans people who do not wish to compete but simply live their lives. It sets up a hostile environment and should not be part of the equation. Quite simply, they face a hard road as it is and desiring to athletically compete with biologic females makes zero sense. Be athletic, enjoy your life, go to the gym or go jogging, skiing, whatever you like.

Just don’t compete.

The reality is @Bosun 's friend presents to the world and identifies personally as a woman.

When you meet her, you see that reality clearly.

Why does that reality anger so many people?

No anger.

Just the idiocy that people can choose their own reality is just as moronic as people who think they can choose their own truth.

Only one reality and only one truth.

And pretending a man has magically changed into a woman is neither.

I have a deep passion for archeological certainty in all things.

If that person has female genitals, then I would have no problem with that individual in a women’s locker room. That person still shouldn’t be allowed to compete on a women’s sports team.

@Guvnah brought up a good point that i did not consider. If her bones are analyzed 200 years from not
W the she would be identified as a he… maybe i was thinking about it wrong. Her johnson was removed, doctors build an artificial female like privates and the reality was engineered.

I agree that she should be able to use ladies room and female locker room. However, her former self has muscle mass of a male and has male advantage Trannys should have theie own class in sports.

What’s a more significant way to think about her as a person? The reality of how she presents and identifies herself to the world, or how a future archeologist will analyze her bones?

I think that’s a sport by sport, and most importantly, level by level decision.

From the Republican Gov of Utah:

Finally, there is one more important reason for this veto. I must admit, I am not an expert on transgenderism. I struggle to understand so much of it and the science is conflicting. When in doubt however, I always try to err on the side of kindness, mercy and compassion. I also try to get proximate and I am learning so much from our transgender community. They are great kids who face enormous struggles. Here are the numbers that have most impacted my decision: 75,000, 4, 1, 86 and 56.

75,000 high school kids participating in high school sports in Utah.
4 transgender kids playing high school sports in Utah.
1 transgender student playing girls sports.
86% of trans youth reporting suicidality.
56% of trans youth having attempted suicide.
Four kids and only one of them playing girls sports. That’s what all of this is about. Four kids who aren’t dominating or winning trophies or taking scholarships. Four kids who are just trying to find some friends and feel like they are a part of something. Four kids trying to get through each day. Rarely has so much fear and anger been directed at so few. I don’t understand what they are going through or why they feel the way they do. But I want them to live. And all the research shows that even a little acceptance and connection can reduce suicidality significantly. For that reason, as much as any other, I have taken this action in the hope that we can continue to work together and find a better way. If a veto override occurs, I hope we can work to find ways to show these four kids that we love them and they have a place in our state.

As long as the transitioned person has no designs on joining a competitive women’s sports team, I don’t really care what that person does.
