I had an interesting experience. A White Castle opened up by me. I haven’t eaten fast food since my early 20s. I usually stay away from it. I rarely ate it in my youth. Three cheeseburgers, a large fry and a small coke was $12.27. This is current. The last time I was at a White Castle the burgers were at or under .50 cents each. This was a bit of a shocker to me.
I don’t it’s just fast food. That’s an easy scape goat. Fast food was available for generations 20 years before mine was in high school. They were no land whales, my generation only had a small percentage. This newer phenomenon has taken over around the last 10-15 years.
Not saying fast food is good for you it’s not I think it’s more cultural than fast food. People are just ■■■■■■■ eating to much calories, articles like this make me think it’s more cultural than McDonalds.
Not every job or industry lends itself to unionization. I worked in financial services IT for the majority of my career. There was no unionization. It would not have been counterproductive.
Right. I never said Trump was pro union and actively supported more unions. He’s just not actively against them. He’s backed unions in the past. As far as I know he hasn’t done anything to try to break unions.
Trump is a wildcard. He tends to go with what he thinks works best. So he could be pro union or anti union depending on the situation. Where most politicians try to be consistent whether it is right or wrong.
I think if you could only buy the most healthy awful tasting products with food stamps, it would save a lot of money. It would be discouraging. If you’re going to allow them to buy anything they want, that’s encouraging.
I think if food stamps or assistance could only buy water and bug products for example, you’d see a lot less people getting this assistance.
I like the idea of restricting what food stamps can be used for
but I caution not to over do it.
For the homeless food stamps are the primary source of food and it would be silly for them to buy a pork chop or a bag of frozen chicken nuggets , a head of lettuce etc…
Food stamps should be good only at warehouses that have only staples like cheese, beans, rice, milk, flour, and other such things. And only stocked with products from USA farms and producers. Actual stamps. Not cash cards.
It would reduce the number of people eager to get on food stamps. It would also boost domestic production and reduce imports.
I’m 5’8,‘’ 163 lbs. and 66 years old. I raised three daughters and have 5 grand children. Yesterday at the gym I did three sets of 20 reps on the ab machine at 345 lbs. I can also do 30 chin-ups. I end my work out by beating the heavy bag like Mike Tyson. If it’s important enough, anyone can stay fit.
In my youth I was always in top physical condition. In 11th grade I could bench press almost 400 pounds once on that machine that you move the pins. Not free weights. But if you can do 30 chin-ups, you’re my hero. Even though I think you’re short.
