President Trump Rubs ABC News Nose in Fake Footage

It’s what they do because you’re© OK with it.

But only when it’s Rs. When it’s Ds, then they are dirty rotten fascism communist socialist libs. They’re not allowed to lie with impunity. Just Rs.

The Trump double standard.

Yes. They went house to house all across America, asking which folks saw the original footage, those who saw the mistake got personal apologies, those who hadn’t got personal apologies for having their time wasted and everyone also got chits for 2 free Pumpkin Spice Latte’s at the coffee shop of their choice.

:hugs:

They use ABC breaking new logo to filter out some of those cell camera lights and video editing.

You can see the same sequence of tracers, explosions and smoke plum.

It was intentionally done on purpose.

Intentionally AND on purpose. How ca you argue that?

  1. It is wrong to show video that represents events happening in one part of the world as being events that are happening in another. (I mean stock footage of people crossing a street is one thing, but news and current events should be held to a higher standard of accuracy.)
  2. It is unethical to intentionally mislead viewers with this sort of fake video tactic.

Maybe you misunderstood. I didn’t say that it is only wrong when Republicans do this.

It’s wrong when anyone does this–ABC, Donald Trump, whomever.

But since you brought it up…

I am aware of lots of deceptive or over-the-top ridiculous campaign ads by Democrats (shove granny off the cliff, for example) but I am not aware of one where they show video of events happening in one part of the world and lead viewers to believe that it footage of events happening in another. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist. I just couldn’t think of a single example. Since you commented, I assume that you have an example in mind. What Democrat campaign ad were you thinking of? If you provide a link to a Democrat campaign ad using this tactic, I’ll gladly go on record of saying once again that this sort of deception is unethical.

Lol. If they aired the footage their evening and news shows, then they should also air the apology on the same programs.

If the correction and apology didn’t get aired at the exact same time as the mistake was made does that negate the correction and the apology?

Not the same times, the same programs. Same audience. Social media/internet audience is most likely not the same audience as program audience. Whats the point of an apology if its not directed to the same audience?

Would you apologize to you neighbor for something you did to your coworker?

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

What guarantee is there that it will be the same audience?

The wrong segment was aired initially on a Sunday night program, then on a Monday morning show.

What guarantee is there that the audience a week later is going to be the same?

By the time the Tuesday Morning show aired the correct footage anyone who had seen the Monday footage likely wouldn’t have known the footage was a mistake much less cared. They had issued a correction and an apology, so I don’t see what your problem is?

Famous black folk all look the same to them?

Seems plausible.

I get it. They’re both black and all, so it’s understandable that Fox would make this mistake when others might not. But, if they’d just hire conscientious video editors…

Clearly, we’ve learned from this thread that an apology is insufficient.

Maybe if they got an intern or something to watch a few hours of BET…

So they aired the correct footage of civilians being bombed?

Unnecessarily harsh towards President Trump.

:put_litter_in_its_place:

I don’t know if ABC did that knowingly or not, but either way, it doesn’t make the slaughter in Syria any less real. As an example of “fake news”, it kinda misses the mark.

It’s kinda gross that Trump is using that mistake to imply there is nothing going on in Syria.

Gross is a good way to put it.

What up with Fake News ABC for running that photo anyway? The footage first aired on “World News Tonight” last week as Fake News Anchor Tom Llamas claimed it showed a Turkish attack on a group of Kurdish civilians in a Syrian border. Thank you CNN for chastising your Fake News Brother for losing to the public.
