Predictions for the next four years of a second Trump Presidency

The next four years looks a lot better. Nato will be pay to play. Paris accords gone. No more funding to ukraine. And israel gets its ally back.

I just heard on the radio the list of senate majority leaders. On it was john thune. And rick scott. Not sure how they will work with trump

They both have overwhelmingly supported his policies in 2016, nothing will change. Both will be primaried and lose if they ever oppose Trump.

Scott is pro-Trump. Thune and Trump would have some fences to mend if Thune were to be the Senate Majority leader.

There are two Republican House members who didn’t support Trump. One was named Pence. His situation is understandable.
In the Senate I think there are four. Romney, of course, Collins, Murkowski and I think one from Indiana. Of course that doesn’t mean they won’t support Republican bills, but likely the filibuster is safe.

Romney is gone.

True, but I don’t know about his replacement. I do recall he wasn’t the primary person Trump wanted.

This is pretty much what I expect Trump to do in regard to energy.

Besides that, shut down the borders. Not sure about anything else. He may try to do something about men in women’s sports, but then again, any sane person should do that. But apparently not the Democratic party.

I hope you’re right re: Ukraine and NATO.

The established system of consensus only allows them to do so much.

Do you mean that there are limits to what he can or can’t do re: NATO? That is: he can’t just say, “Bye”?

It’s Utah so I can’t believe that the person will be anywhere near the pain in the ass Romney was.

I mean legally he could. But he isn’t Stalin or Hussein. There’s decorum and expectations he has to meet or he won’t get his back scratched when he needs it to be for his own initiatives.

With NATO, he will bluster a bit most likely and create some sort of form where each member has to detail how they will reach 2% defense of GDP within a few years. Beyond that, I don’t think he will try anything else.

I could live with that.

Was someone other than Kamala Harris on the ballot? Then again, the bar CNN has established is literally lying on the ground.

Best advice for Ukraine? Push to have Ukraine admitted into NATO.

Pretty much agree with what Purp said.

I do think Trumps answer to the war in Ukraine will be a) immediate halt on all funding to Ukraine and telling Putin he has a free hand b) Tell Ukraine funding will cease at some point in 2025 and its time to either admit defeat or negotiate with Putin the areas of Ukraine, Russia can keep.

Trump has no interest in Europe outside of possible trade so he is going to moot the idea of the US leaving NATO and again I do not think he really cares if Putin has eyes on any part of Western Europe.

Tariffs are not going to happen, anyone with half a brain can see that. He is using the threat as a tactic.

Trump will do some of the culture war stuff to placate his hard core base - national abortion ban, transgender ban in sports, military etc.

Overall in 4 years time I think we will have seen the US regress in many areas and his base will he ecstatic.

As Trump breaks major promises I fully expect his supporters on here to excuse every single failure. It will always be someone elses fault. So just an extension of 2016-2020

I also think he will take off the weapon use restrictions. Win with what you got no restrictions, make a deal or lose, your choice.

Trump has been uncharacteristically quiet past few days. I am sure the election took it out of the old guy so he is entitled to a few days downtime.

Yes. Mitch likely will not run again in 2026, unless he wants to die in office.
