Criminals need to stop being criminals.

Police don’t want to die anymore than anyone.

People should do as police say and they won’t get shot.

Cops on the street don’t determine who is a criminal.

Of course not, but since cops get shot even doing minor traffic stops, they have be on guard. Lawful people do as asked by a police officer, they usually don’t do something that, in an instant, can be construed as life threatening.
