Pence: Honoured to have you here Joe!

Notice how quiet Pence usually is.

From the City Police Department that filed the original charges:

The sheriff’s department decided to charge him with trafficking, and the only reason they were technically able to do so was because the butter (which amounted to 8 sticks worth) weighed 1/10th of a pound over the limit of what is needed for trafficking charges. Trafficking can carry a life sentence in Alabama.

And those charges only came AFTER he commented that he had mowed the sheriff’s lawn and was paid with a check from the prisoner food fund…which is the sheriff’s personal slush fund he fills with leftover money he didn’t spend on food for inmates.

I have no problem with the guy being arrested for breaking the law-but using the weight of the butter, instead of the weight of the pot used in the butter (as the city police did), as well as charging him with crimes the city had already charged him with, was vindictive.

That’s the way it works in a lot of states fyi, which is why it’s a really bad idea to get caught with edibles in states where it’s still illegal, if it contains THC they weigh the whole cookie and count that weight as pot.

Even worse is he’s given Joe a sound bite to use in the upcoming primary. It won’t be surprising if a clip of Pence saying this makes it way into a Joe ad.

And it’s disgusting. On what planet does Pence think Joe follows the “rule of law”?

Here is just a partial list of what Joe is guilty of. And this article was written by a conservative.

Arpaio’s posse framed an innocent man , using threats by a jailhouse snitch to entrap him in an assassination plot against Arpaio himself. The man was eventually awarded $1,102,528 in a taxpayer-funded settlement. But at the time of his arrest, Arpaio piously played the martyr for the TV cameras , as if his life had really been in danger.

Arpaio once explained he was able to cut the cost of feeding his inmates down to just 30 cents per meal, meaning he was spending more money to feed his dogs. To slash costs, he eliminated salt and pepper from the menu and limited inmates to just two meals per day. On a related note, he also limited their television privileges to just C-SPAN, the Weather Channel and, “ to aggravate their hunger ,” the Food Network. It’s important to note here that many of Arpaio’s wards were simply awaiting trial and that they had not yet been convicted of any wrongdoing.

Arpaio allowed hundreds of alleged child sex crimes , many of which involved underage girls, to go uninvestigated and unresolved. The public funds that were given to reinforce the sex-crimes unit were used instead on pet projects.

Yep, VP Pence has given Arpaio a sound bite that he can use in his campaign ads. This will increase his chances of becoming the GOP Nominee for AZ Senate. The one poll of Arpaio vs. the likely Democratic nominee has him as much as 26 percentage points behind her. And I thought that our Vice President was smarter than this.

Saville actually did the crime, he was found not guilty on the basis he was entrapped and enticed into committing it.

No he didn’t, get your facts straight.

Technically they ENTRAPPED the alleged assassin, they did not frame him. The difference being, under entrapment the man actually tried to carry out the crime.

That distinction, in no way shape or form exonerates Arpaio from wrong doing in the matter. Rather it makes clear that the new millionaire, James Saville, who had multiple felony convictions prior to his 18th birthday, was thinking he would get a cash payout when he actually bought bomb parts and began assembling a bomb to kill Arpaio.

Read your own cited article, the Sheriff had nothing to do with his arrest. The City PD arrested and charged him.

He had additional, repeat charges filed against him by the sheriff’s office, even though they were not the ones who arrested him. How on God’s green earth did you miss that? It’s right there in the article.

From my article:

“But records on the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office website show that Entrekin’s office charged Qualls with three additional crimes: another paraphernalia charge, another felony possession of a controlled substance charge, and felony drug trafficking. Penalties for drug trafficking are extremely steep in Alabama, where people have been imprisoned for life for the crime.”

And also from my article:

“The sheriff’s office chose to bring the additional charges despite the fact that spokeswoman Natalie Barton said via email Monday that the case against Qualls “belongs to and was initiated by the Rainbow City Police Department” and "[t]he Etowah County Sheriff’s Office did not have any involvement in the arrest of Mr. Qualls.”

Oops.

i am so proud that the republicans honor their bigots… thank you for doing this publicly

The Republican Party has changed. Back in 1991 when David Duke was running for Governor of Louisiana, President Bush went down there to campaign against him.

What we are seeing is that the RW loves them some demogogue action.

Uh-oh.

And if Arpaio does happen to win the primary, it’s a lock for a D pick up.

Even if Joe wasn’t running for the Senate, Pence was still WAY out of line to be praising the guy. He’s a crook.

And the additional charges resulted from the findings of the crime lab. Again as you provided from the quoted article the SD had nothing to do with his arrest.

Nobody was framed, buy a dictionary.

You don’t think there’s anything unusual in the additional charges?

No, try reading. They were based on the lab findings and forensics.
