Surprised this story took so long to gain national attention. A supposed lone actor was able to defeat the security of the Governors residence WHILE HE WAS INSIDE SLEEPING and set fire to a wing of the mansion. No little fire. This caused major damage.
I am reminded of the terrible security with the Pelosi residence attack. This actor was in and out and on the run for a day before apprehended. Where are the alarms and video security?
I am embarrassed this happened. Shapiro is a good person and does not deserve this lax level of security in his own home.

An arsonist armed with homemade incendiary devices slipped past security, broke into the Pennsylvania Governorâs Residence while Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were sleeping, and set a fire in the room where the stateâs first family had celebrated the beginning of Passover with a Seder just hours earlier, officials said Sunday.
Police arrested 38-year-old Cody Balmer of Harrisburg and charged him with attempted homicide, arson and terrorism, among other offenses.
The FBI, state Attorney Generalâs Office, Capitol Police and Dauphin County District Attorneyâs Office are continuing to investigate, officials said Sunday in a news conference just outside the Harrisburg mansion.
Troopers say Balmer admitted to scaling a perimeter fence, breaking two windows with a hammer and throwing Molotov cocktails inside. The arson suspect allegedly admitted he was aware it was a possibility that Shapiro and others were home at the time and âit was a possibility that people could be injured by his actions.â
Had Balmer come face-to-face with Shapiro, he allegedly said, âhe would have beaten him with his hammer.â Following the interview, Balmer was taken to Dauphin County Prison for arraignment.
Even more eerily similar to Pelosi attack than I suspected.

Balmerâs mother told CBS her son is mentally ill and had gone off his medication. She said she contacted four police departments for help before the incident â but âcouldnât get anybody to help.â
She could be lying, but if not, thatâs sad but also how things go.

Balmerâs social media presence suggests he held staunch anti-government views. He often posted memes urging people to âbecome ungovernableâ and reposted an artwork of a Molotov cocktail in 2022 with the slogan âBe the light you want to see in the world.â
He posted negative content about then-President Joe Biden and seemed to reject Bidenâs 2020 presidential win. He shared posts on Facebook criticizing Biden during his term, including a picture with the text âJoe Biden owes me 2 grandâ and a post that said âBiden supporters shouldnât exist.â
I donât mean everyone. You seem like a very sound democrat. Iâm just saying this vandalism is more mainstream with democrats. Itâs not even close.
This level of violence leads me to conclude this piece of â â â â arsonist leans left and the fact itâs not being reportedâŚleads me to that conclusion even stronger. The left is truly our nationâs worst threat as Iâm still waiting for the acts of violence to be done by what the FBI and Biden listed as the biggest threat, âwhite supremacistsâ.
I donât have any evidence one way or the other but the fact it isnât being disclosed by the media plus the laws of probability in this current state of affairsâŚitâs a logical conclusion.
