As I have said before, states don’t make decisions on whether to open schools based on Trump’'s campaign speeches or his tweets. My kids school district has decided to allow parents to send their kids to school or to do virtual learning at home. The basis for their decision was the county health officials, state health officials, and advice of the CDC.
They did not mention one time considering Trump’s tweets.
These are professionals in their fields, not political groupies, making these decisions.
I’m sure they are all wearing Magic Bulle…cloth face coverings.
How hard is it to ignore a tweet?

Doug you are correct. What schools do listen to is the 42% of his base that were insisting their school open because Trump said it was safe.
Well they shouldn’t have listened. Because reasons.

I’m not a recipient of Federal funding. Schools are.
I’m sure some will claim “withholding funds”, although the President hasn’t actually done any such thing and couldn’t.

I think the point is the rest of us do.
Including the President of the University of Alabama.
He threatened it further stoking his supporters. Whether he has the authority or not is irrelevant.
Of course a threat is only as valid as one has the means to carry it through.
If only everyone had their own team of lawyers standing by to determine the validity of every single tweet.
