One and only Kavenaugh Hearings Thread (part 1)

What would be the charge?

damn. i bet the First Lady hates to see that.

I guess we now know what attracted Trump to DC

So, even though these charges are 36 years old, his accuser doesn’t provide any facts, and her charges cannot be proven, you pronounce Kavanaugh guilty, until he can prove himself innocent?

There are no CHARGES. THERE ARE ALLEGATIONS…THERE IS NO GUILT OR INNOCENCE TO PROVE. I just want them to put it to an end…either there is something there…or there is nothing there. IF there is something there maybe he shouldn’t be on the court…but I use the word IF an awful lot in my posts…So there is nothing that should lead you to believe that I am pronouncing anything.

You put a lot of words in my mouth that I haven’t said. I never said CHARGES. I NEVER SAID GUILTY. YOU SAY THOSE THINGS.

Furthermore…I said IF he is lying…he shouldn’t be on the court. RIF!

I love it when a person starts a sentence with furthermore.

My Dad was an English Teacher. Furthermore was always his favorite way to start a sentence like that. I can hear him say it. And Furthermore…or Furthermore if we want to express this or that. LOL He was a hoot when it came to teaching English.

They could find stuff like the frat that he belonged to…

"But in his first year of college, Kavanaugh joined an organization notorious for disrespecting women: the campus chapter of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Truth and Courage fizzled out of existence in the early 2010s. But since Kavanaugh’s graduation in 1987, DKE’s reputation for mistreating women at Yale has only grown. Yale banned DKE from campus for five years in 2011 after videos circulated of fraternity recruits chanting “no means yes, yes means anal” in front of the University’s Women’s Center."

It’s about assessing the nominee’s fitness for office, not a criminal referral. The FBI performs background checks on all nominees requiring Senate approval.

IF by some weird chance it is true then no, he should not be seated. Rapists deserve a bullet, not a Supreme Court seat.

I personally do not believe that he did it. There’s way too many holes in her story. And false accusations of rape are a very sore subject for me since as I mentioned I know a guy who’s entire reputation was ruined over a false accusation of rape. The only thing that saved his ass from prison was that he was able to find a receipt of something he purchased at a gas station when he was out of state working at the same time she (his girlfriend at the time) stated the rape occurred.

For some odd reason, the republicans don’t want to hear from the other guy who Christine Ford said was in the room.

Maybe he’s someone who actually believes that lying under oath is wrong? Can’t have someone in there who might say that Kavanaugh actually did it.

He has said he remembers no similar party and does not remember that incident, that in fact it didn’t happen. What further question is there to ask?
How many times don’t your remember that?
How strongly don’t your remember that?
Who was at the party…oih, that’s right, you said it didn’t happen.
Yeah…that’s worth a subpoena.

Then put him under oath, even privately, and get it officially on the record. Shouldn’t be a problem, right?

His response could change if he was under oath. Not saying it would, but it could.

PJ doesn’t recall anything like the alleged victim happening either.

“I understand that I have been identified by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as the person she remembers as ‘PJ’ who supposedly was present at the party she described in her statements to the Washington Post,” Smyth says in his statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I am issuing this statement today to make it clear to all involved that I have no knowledge of the party in question; nor do I have any knowledge of the allegations of improper conduct she has leveled against Brett Kavanaugh.”

“Personally speaking, I have known Brett Kavanaugh since high school and I know him to be a person of great integrity, a great friend, and I have never witnessed any improper conduct by Brett Kavanaugh towards women. To safeguard my own privacy and anonymity, I respectfully request that the Committee accept this statement in response to any inquiry the Committee may have.”

It would be just great if he was under oath, wouldn’t it?

What’s the purpose? If he repeated it under oath you would just say he was lying under oath.

Democrats just want to make more hoops to jump through…until the election.
