One and Only Chauvin-Floyd Murder Trial Thread

I agree with The Doc: I don’t have a problem with consent degrees

I sense hesitation.

I do. The assumption.

What assumption?

Is the manhunt on for whoever put the pig’s head and blood at the witness’ house?

The assumption that the consent comes from a “better” source.

Some of them have been quite effective.

When my city was on a consent decree for a few years, the number of motorists being choked to death and teenagers being hung on the cell bars like Jesus on the cross until they died dropped to like zero.

Just like anything. If done for the right reasons. Consent decrees are a wonderful tool.

So when will the trials for the 3 co-conspirators begin? I imagine they’re worried.

About 20 percent of Minneapolis’s population of 430,000 is black. But when the police get physical — with kicks, neck holds, punches, shoves, takedowns, Mace, Tasers or other forms of muscle — nearly 60 percent of the time the person subject to that force is black. And that is according to the city’s own figures.

huh.

Who’s in charge of the police?

In more ways than than not, the police are in charge of the police.

Do jurors ever get book deals?

What do we think about Pelos’s comment that Floyd “sacrificed his life”?

I think it was an incredibly stupid thing to say, and she should fire anyone on her staff who thought it was a good idea.

Yeah that was terrible. That was just a hair less horrendous than Tomi Lahren’s response.

Cringingly exploitative.

Terrible.

It was ridiculous.
