NPR Editor: "In D.C., where NPR is headquartered and many of us live, I found 87 registered Democrats working in editorial positions and zero Republicans. None."

The article in the op and its message was addressed.

That the op is just posting articles like a yahoo aggregator was addressed as well

As for President Trump the article got stuck on three major news stories. On purpose. It could have picked so many more but specifically chose stories “conservatives” would find relatable for arghl blarghl

When was the last time “conservatives” were the audience of npr political coverage

Certainly! Let’s explore the funding sources for National Public Radio (NPR) and understand how much of its revenue comes from government funding.

  1. NPR Funding:
. . . While federal money is important to the overall public media system, NPR gets less than 1% of its annual budget, on average, from federal sources⁵.

    • However, it’s essential to note that NPR’s affiliate stations (local NPR stations) receive funding from different sources.
  2. NPR Affiliate Stations:
    . . . .

    • In total, NPR affiliate stations receive 23% of their revenue from government or government-affiliated sources⁵.
  3. PBS (Public Broadcasting Service):

    • PBS, another public media organization, also receives funding from government sources.

    • PBS states that it gets:

      • 15% of its revenue from the federal government.
      • 13% from state governments.
      • 3% from local governments.
      • 8% from universities.
    • This adds up to a total of 39% of its revenue from government-related funding⁵.

In summary, while NPR and PBS do receive some funding from government sources, their primary revenue streams come from other sources such as program fees, station dues, and other affiliations. If you have any more questions or need further details, feel free to ask! :radio::studio_microphone:

I think a lot of people think NPR and PBS are 100% funded by the federal government. It’s good to remind people they’re not.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Either support both sides or neither side with tax money.

Or right leaning. There are plenty of both.

I was being facetious. (That should be obvious.)

When you can’t get your political opposition to say what you want them to say, just say it for them.

Surely since it’s financially supported by “we the people”…it represent both sides? …I’m shocked.

Their association with William F. Buckley. He was on NPR panels frequently. The lefties didn’t understand what he as saying but he sounded like an Intellectual so they all nodded politely and uttered "uh huh"s and "ah"s to everything he said. It was great.

Libs and Progs are the only ones who ever believed that.

Need isn’t a requirement. Most often, after someone comments their call out of “Trump,” they will find Trump’s name somewhere in a linked article and bring attention to it just so they can claim that they did not bring it up first.

That’s because NPR has been heavily biased toward the left as long as they have been on the air. Everyone knows that. This article simply documents it.

Surely you must know that the most effective lies utilize facts as a basis. The truth in the news is more than just facts.

And all of us do too. That’s why an honest news organization should strive to present a full range of perspectives.

Even the verbs, nouns adjectives and adverbs they choose to use can (and does) convey a bias.

:point_up_2: There is an example of bias through the use of adjectives. He says NPR leans left, but FOX leans "hard right.

And of course, the “credibility” assessment of the two news outlets is pure subjective bias as well.

It doesn’t matter. The political indoctrination is more effective with a receptive audience.

It matters for the purposes of this discussion.

If NPR had 87 Republicans running it Lib heads would Explode!

Since it is 87 dems the libs response is “Yeah…So”?
