No Kings rally weekend vs. Trump's big beautiful Army Parade

“met with a very heavy force”? Was he going to sit on them?

They really don’t like anything that celebrates America, especially our phenomenal military, in any way.

no kings had some huge numbers and was a peaceful protest, mainly boomers like me.

trump parade was low energy,

both were ho-hum.

so funny…I especially love how they all had to stand to attention for…Happy Birthday to the rapey felon.

(but it was really to celebrate the army’s b-day)

I didn’t know keyboards had a butthurt function. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Trump wasn’t president when plans began for the parade last year. He thinks we should have a parade every year, so do I. Military enlistment is high.

It’s foolish to keep calling it Trump’s parade.

Feel free to wear yours out. Glad to have been of help. :grinning:

The Biden administration didn’t plan for a parade.

Not true…last year, there were plans for a celebration just like there are plans for the Navy’s and Marine’s celebration…but no parade was in the works at that time.

If you think 2 or 3 months is enough time to properly plan a large scale military parade in Washington, DC, that’s fine. I’m not going to try to change your mind. Cause whatever happened on Saturday wasn’t a well planned or well executed parade.

By your estimation, he should have. Thus the “failure.”

Worked 250 years ago kicking their Johnny Bull’s arses all the way to Yorktown.

No, by all means, continue to vent your spleen. 3 1/2 years to go. Godspeed.

So it doesn’t trouble you that what Trump and his spokespeople say is not in alignment?

My opinion is that the Trump administration shouldn’t have held the parade because it requires more time and preparation than 2 months to do it properly. I’m not going to blame the previous administration for something it wasn’t responsible for.

Yeah, I don’t blame them with the no kings protest. It was pretty ■■■■■■ of Obama passing Daca through executive order after he said he doesn’t have the power to do that and wasn’t a king so good on those protestors for seeing the wrong and taking the time to call it out. :+1:

Barack Obama’s statement, “I am president, I am not king,” was made in the context of immigration reform discussions and his executive actions on immigration, specifically regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Nah, this was the way to fly. Really gets the intent across doncha think?

again, i’d like to see proof of that

Then back to the flowchart.

Not bitching at all. If you are going to do a parade commit to it 100% make it a spectacle, get the people excited.

For the 250th army anniversary it was a lack luster affair cobbled together at the last minute.
