Besides Iâd rather not risk my spec ops guys lives when I donât have to. Palestinian infrastructure isnât my responsibility. If it gets blown up as a result of Hamas using it as a base, thatâs on them.
Itâs the entire reason Hamas hides behind civilians ⌠and itâs also why they do not distinguish between combatant deaths vs. civilian deaths. Then their media releases pictures of crying fathers holding the body of a dead child to give the impression that everyone who is killed by IDF actions is a civilian. Whining about genocide is what was used to justify the NATO war to support partition of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. If standards used to convict Serbs were applied to Israelis most of the Israeli government and military leadership would be in prison.
The basic narrative is that US allies never commit genocide no matter how overwhelming the evidence, while enemies of the US always commit genocide and similar war crimes no matter how flimsy the evidence.

A similar situation existed in Northern Ireland with conflicts going back to the time of Cromwell and earlier. The US helped to resolve the conflict there. A similar effort was promising in Middle East starting in the 1970s, but the effort has been abandoned for decades.
The UN partitioned Palestine into a Jewish state and Arab state in 1948. The Jewish state has steadily expanded since then with US military support, and Israelâs goal appears to be to subjugate the entire region. Why should Americans be sending billions in aid to support this policy?
