New Pew poll: Most Americans have unfavorable view of Israel

Show me.

Setting up a command center in a hospital and using civilians as human shields isn’t?

Have you contacted the IDF yet? Your brilliance is astounding. I relieve believe they would love to hear from you.

No Allan, that is not even remotely close to what I said.

What makes you think they didn’t do that?

Besides I’d rather not risk my spec ops guys lives when I don’t have to. Palestinian infrastructure isn’t my responsibility. If it gets blown up as a result of Hamas using it as a base, that’s on them.

It’s the entire reason Hamas hides behind civilians … and it’s also why they do not distinguish between combatant deaths vs. civilian deaths. Then their media releases pictures of crying fathers holding the body of a dead child to give the impression that everyone who is killed by IDF actions is a civilian. And bleeding hearts like Allan eat it up.

It absolutely is.

If Al had been command of US forces in World War II we would have lost.

When you’re in a war, you’ve got to become a bit of a monster to win it. No one ever won a war by being nice. We did some awful ■■■■ to the Japanese and the Germans. But in the end we won faster than otherwise thought possible and the suffering stopped for everyone.

Heck, we did awful things to the French, Belgians and Dutch during WWII. And they were grateful.

I mean we bombed the ■■■■ ■■■■ out of all three. Especially the French. I think we dropped more bombs on France than the Germans did.

Yep. And possibly killed more Frenchmen too. Our war in France with the Germans lasted far longer and was far more destructive than the German’s war with France.

you know instead of committing war crimes.

Allan

Whining about genocide is what was used to justify the NATO war to support partition of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. If standards used to convict Serbs were applied to Israelis most of the Israeli government and military leadership would be in prison.

The basic narrative is that US allies never commit genocide no matter how overwhelming the evidence, while enemies of the US always commit genocide and similar war crimes no matter how flimsy the evidence.

its okay to be a war criminal if someone else is also.

as i have said previously for the last 23 years or so on the forum

a pox on both their houses.

there are no clean hands in the middle east hoohah.

only very dirty ones.

Allan

Tribal conflicts such as this one involve multiple atrocities going back many decades, and each side can point to enemy actions to justify their own atrocities.

A similar situation existed in Northern Ireland with conflicts going back to the time of Cromwell and earlier. The US helped to resolve the conflict there. A similar effort was promising in Middle East starting in the 1970s, but the effort has been abandoned for decades.

The UN partitioned Palestine into a Jewish state and Arab state in 1948. The Jewish state has steadily expanded since then with US military support, and Israel’s goal appears to be to subjugate the entire region. Why should Americans be sending billions in aid to support this policy?

The Jewish state has expanded because the Arab side keeps starting - and losing wars.

And of course, much of that - actually all of that expansion - came with zero US military support.

You do know that US had a de facto arms embargo against Israel from 1947 until the middle of 1960s, do you not ?

Maybe if the British Balfour declaration had opened up Wales as a settlement area, you would have a point.
