If they aren’t willing to learn the history then how could they ever understand? They’re criticizing something they don’t know anything about.
They think it’s simple. It’s anything but simple. Both the Israelis and the Palestinians have reasons to hate each other. But one side made graver errors in its conduct.
There is an active genocide in Sudan right now where the estimate is up to 150,000 people dead. 91% of the country are Muslims. Why no protests to end the genocide? where is the outrage of over their dead Muslim brothers? Even if one took the word of the Palestinians, and the death count is around 50,000 that’s three times less. No one cared or protested the Syrian wars, nor the bloody wars in Yemen. Why does this little slither of land create so much animosity, headlines, and global outrage?
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but unless the infidel is the one doing the killing specifically ‘the Jew’ internationally no one cares, especially their fellow Muslims.
If Israel was 100% Palestinian they could bomb the hell out of Gaza and there wouldn’t be one college protest, but add the Jew and suddenly vast outrage.
And IDF soldier was eaten by sharks two days ago in Israel when you go through the comment sections on YouTube or TikTok it’s nothing but thousands of replies like “hoping the shark is OK from eating the dirty Jew”.
I don’t disagree with any of this, but it doesn’t change the facts that respondents to a poll or voters in this country need to be informed on a matter to have an opinion on it. And maybe even go on to enact that opinion into policy
I think that’s about right but you/they would do well to remember that America is Israel’s sole patron in the world. If America were ever to withdraw its support, israel would be in some real trouble
The day the US sets foreign policy (or any other important policy) based on public opinion polls (conducted by who knows who) marks the end of the Republic.
