There is no real why, is there.
Ihave never been raped, (unless you count taxes)
nor worked in bank while it was being robbed,
nor shot at while attending school,
nor been the victim of an NYC subway mugging
. . . . and yet . . . strangely . . . . I feel it is okay if i care about those things and have an opinion on them.

A man who was never the victim of a bank robbery can have an opinion on bank robbery.
A woman who has never raped can have an opinion on rape.

I tried but my re-enlistment code prevented me because I got out in 92 when Bush Sr started the post Gulf 1 drawdowns. I qualified for an early out with bonus, so I figured getting out a year early with a 5 figure bonus beat staying another year and getting nothing when I got out. There was no way I was going to get another stripe and be able to stay in past 8.
