I would’ve supported impeachment for the killing of two citizens without due process. I don’t think a secret meeting with a secret judge counts as due process and sets a dangerous precedent.
Now go start a different thread and quit deflecting in this one.
The interesting part here is that the SDNY is obviously building a case to charge Trump. They granted immunity to David Pecker/National Enquirer in exchange for evidence that they conspired with Trump to pay off porn stars and hide scandalous stories to help him win the election.
You don’t grant an immunity deal unless you wanna fry the bigger fish.
Two U.S. officials speaking on condition of anonymity stated that the target of the October 14, 2011, airstrike was Ibrahim al-Banna, an Egyptian believed to be a senior operative in Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.[8] Another U.S. administration official speaking on condition of anonymity described Abdulrahman al-Awlaki as a bystander who was “in the wrong place at the wrong time,” stating that “the U.S. government did not know that Mr. Awlaki’s son was there” before the airstrike was ordered.[8]
I mean, you can just shove your fingers in your ears and scream LALALALA if it makes you feel better.
I said the same thing on the old boards during his presidency. I remember arguing against neocons in their defense of his actions against enemy combatants in a war zone. (ETA: it was possibly the issue that brought together the most unsuspecting and politically diverse group of people).
There’s no reason for me to prove it. Whether or not there was, it doesn’t amount to due process.
Looks like AMI will be sharing EVERYTHING they know about Donald Trump with the SDNY. And EVERYTHING the know about similar acts done for other politicians.
I wouldn’t be surprised if part two there catches more politicians in the net, Democratic as well as Republican.
Trump enablers are starting to realize that it’s better to get the inevitable over with quickly.
No, that should not be our course. Slow and steady wins the race. Deliberate investigation and attention to detail and process serves us all better in the long run.
It is going to be a very long period for them coming up. But, that is at it should be. As well? It will give them adequate time for reflection should they choose on what they have enabled.
The preferred outcome is for the President’s trial and sentencing to occur after he and all his ilk are repudiated soundly at the polls.
A time when he has no friends left and America has spoken with one voice.
If the executive is indeed immune from indictment, justice, in this case, is a dish best served very cold.
