National Enquirer publisher says they paid off Playboy model Karen McDougal in concert with Trump’s presidential campaign

Politico has a great piece about this. They were Trumps fixer for years. But I’m this case they conspired with Trump and Cohen to commit election fraud.

All the president’s men are becoming felons.

And in other porn star news:

Stormy Daniels Ordered to Pay Trump $293,000 in Legal Fees

Already discussed, old news.

Not in this thread. Not in any thread as far as I can see.

We had a thread on it…search button helps…

Several threads.

She still comes out ahead.

Can you explain in full detail and in your own words the differences between the two scenarios?

Yes. One is Trump.

You’re being lazy. And your full of it. And you know it. One involves late notices and the other involves shell companies, deliberately lying and misleading and a lack of transparency. The other willingly went through a full audit.

But independent experts, including former FEC commissioner Michael Toner, said after the audit was released that the infractions were relatively minor, given the scope of the campaign.

And yet “relatively minor” resulted in the largest fine ever?

Ok, if you say so.

Largest fine ever for the largest campaign ever. Less than 0.04% of the entire campaign money.

You’ll deny it’s what you’re doing, but this compulsion to deflect or downplay Trump’s legitimate criminal wrongdoing is odd coming from you.

Whataboutism no matter how tenuous is all that is left to defend a President that is claimed to not be liked.

Still the largest fine ever, for now. I really don’t care what you do to Trump. During or after his term. Just get on with it.

He’s an embarrassment, a brutish lout, has the NYC values of a billy goat. He lies when it would be easier to tell the truth. He’s ignorant beyond belief. Get him out of there and LOCK HIM UP!

But for goodness sakes stop whining about it.

You want to bring down the NRA with him? DO IT! STOP TALKING ABOUT IT AND NIKE!

Take to the streets.

Whataboutism is the only known antidote for hypocrisy.

Whataboutism between two incomparable things is hypocrisy.

It is deflection.

It is an attempt to draw ethical and moral comparisons between two things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

If on the surface there is “well they were both fined” but when one looks at what the fines were for, then to compare the two makes one look foolish.

No two things are incomparable. They are both campaign finance fraud.

Why do you insist on undermining Tiny and emboldening his enemies?

He is a horrible, horrible person.

It is a matter of discernment.

One is a failure to report within 48 hours campaign contributions that were self reported open to audit and fines freely paid.

The other involves shell companies, fraudulent invoices, money laundering and over a year of denial.

To think the two comparable would mean that one is making a willfully ignorant comparison in order to minimize the weight of the situation… for what reasons I cannot even begin to imagine.
