Which ones?
Mississippi?
Here you go:
https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/MS/PST045221
It appears to be white majority, with black Americans the most numerous minority group.
It also appears to have, for the most part, a pretty youthful population. Could that be part of the crime increase?
One other potential factor that doesn’t seem to be mentioned is percentage of single female headed households. Could that be part of the problem?
Here’s another demographic that may explain Mississippi and Alabama in particular:
The culture of baby mommee and baby daddee appears to be producing some dire consequences.
The very first data point, Mississippi is number one with a murder rate of 20.50, is a lie.
This snippet from the linked article will explain…
The chart below shows the top 10 murder rate states in 2020. Mississippi had the highest homicide rate at 20.50 murders per 100,000 residents
Doesn’t bode well for the rest of the article.

It took a while but you finally revealed yourself.
Are you stating that republican governors have no control of state laws that could prevent murder?
Should we link this thread with the “Thug Culture State of Mind” thread?

WuWei:
Post the demographics.
https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls
Now, once you do the math there, cross check those demographics to those of the states with high crime, like Mississippi.
Red states, maybe. That doesn’t mean it’s Republicans or conservatives committing most of the murders.

But they control the states that set laws and policies. If their solutions work… why aren’t they?

I don’t hide.
I am posting the demographics I asked for.
Laws can’t prevent murder.

This thread was started with the false implication that it was conservative Republicans committing murders. I’m afraid that the use of murder rates for that purpose begs for more detailed explanations. Unfortunate if you don’t like what that detail reveals.

Tell that to republicans.
Why aren’t they controlling murder rates for cities they ultimately control (via state control)?
No it wasn’t.
It was about states and some cities.
