Mulvaney's Press Conference

Did he say there was a quid pro quo with Ukraine or did he say there wasn’t a quid pro quo? Did he say it then deny he said it?

It doesn’t sound like the President’s legal staff approved of Mulvaney’s statements:

“The President’s legal counsel was not involved in acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney’s press briefing.”
~Jay Sekulow

The DOJ released an official statement even before Sekulow:

“If the White House was withholding aid in regards to the cooperation of any investigation at the Department of Justice, that is news to us.”

I think Schiff and Pelosi will soon be sending him a thank you letter and asking if he would like to hold a press conference for one of the three committees conducting the impeachment inquiry.

I think Sekulow’s statement is my favorite part. It’s perfect.

I think the DOJ is interesting. They may have to make an official statement that there was not an investigation associated with Ukraine and the 2016 election under Barr.

Which will throw a few people under the bus.

Mulvaney tried to walk it back but the damage is done.

And here we are.

Our country is so embarrassing.

I agree. Mulvaney should be subpoenaed and testify.

I doubt Trump would let him testify without a fight, but if Kirschner thinks they could get Mick to testify, I believe him.

I think Mulvaney won’t get fired anytime soon. Fat donald knows he’ll admit to even more crimes if he gets thrown under the bus.

If everything is illegal why is it being done in the open? Case closed. No cover-up.

It’s a very poor cover up. It happens all the time with this administration. Get over it.

The “Yeah we did it, SO WHAT!?” phase has started. Everyone on the Trumptanic will join in.

Mark Meadows bust have missed the Mulvaney press conference. He will probably get the memo on the new defense strategy tomorrow morning.

And likely so is he.

Good thing Mick is but “acting”.

These people.

I like the part of the story where Trump and crew talk about “the DNC server” like it is a singular thing.
According to sources the server is really 120 separate computers that were cloud linked.

This is all they got. :rofl:l

You’re gonna have to do a lot of parsing of those statements to support your position.
The statement by the spokesperson certainly seems all encompassing.
This statement was put out about 2 weeks ago.

“The Attorney General has not communicated with Ukraine - on this or any other subject. Nor has the Attorney General discussed this matter, or anything relating to Ukraine, with Rudy Giuliani,”

This statement was put out today.

“If the White House was withholding aid in regards to the cooperation of any investigation at the Department of Justice, that is news to us.”

Why would the DoJ need to know that Trump was delaying aid until he ascertained Ukraine’s attitude to cooperating in future with the DoJ if contact would be made?
Why would the DoJ need to know what Rudy was doing investigating in Ukraine through backdoor channels?

You argument is non sequitur. Your evidence bears no relevance to the charges you are making.

I think you have it backwards.
Why does the White House believe that there was an ongoing investigation into Ukraine by the DOJ?
Why would the DOJ dispute Mulvaney’s statement that funds were held up until or if Ukraine assisted in that investigation?
