More Americans blame Trump for shutdown (Reuters)

Well, Donald Trump got his wish. In a recent poll, 47% hold Trump responsible for the shutdown, while 33% hold democrats responsible. The takeaway I get from this is that more people realize that Trump is the one being unreasonable in this situation. In any case, he said he would own a shutdown, and apparently, the American people are giving him his wish.

Congratulations Mr. President!

Well good. That’s what he wanted. He is proud to bear the mantle of the 2018 Trump Christmas Shutdown. He said so on live TV, for all the world to hear. He wasn’t tricked into saying it, he really really wanted to do it. Winning!!!

Well since he said he would take the blame I’m not sure what those 33% of people are thinking.

there is video of him taking accepting the blame and being proud of it…and yet still a third refuse to accept that…just astounding

True. He openly said he wanted this if he didn’t get what he wanted, and still some people seem to ignore that. It’s truly astounding.

Because they are idiots

All he has to do is say it’s the Democrats’ fault, and his followers will believe him. Doesn’t matter how videos there are of him taking responsibility.

They took him seriously but not literally.

Trump looks like he is losing the “War on Truth”.

Also from the article, which should really tell you all you need to know about this Trump Shutdown…

Only 25 percent said they supported Trump shutting down the government over the matter.

The Democrats have zero reason to cave in to the demands of this child. The public isn’t with him on this issue at all. Not even close. President Donald Trump is holding our government hostage over a temper tantrum and is setting a dangerous precedent. The Democrats cannot abide this attempt to set a new low in governing.

Absolutely. The best thing for the current Congress to do is to hold off until the newly elected Congress is seated. Then the will of the people can be implemented.

In Jan the new House will vote on a budget which will have no money for his 14th century wall.

Yeah. The real question is if it sees the Senate floor.

Personally, I say they resurrect the bipartisan border wall/DREAM act from last year and call it a day. I’m so tired of talking about this.

Trump wanted his Christmas Shutdown. He said so in front of cameras. Now he has the Trump. Hristmas Shutdown.

There’s a reason Schumer was grinning like the Cheshire cat in that meeting.

“Oh, you’re PROUD to take the blame, huh? Okaaaaay…”

It’s really quiet in here. Where are the typical supporters of this wall boondoggle? Why aren’t they in here enlightening us on how this poll is wrong and 110% of the public wants a massive border wall?

Is there anybody out there? Is there anybody out there?

Americans aren’t stupid. Trump is on camera claiming ownership of the Great Christmas Shutdown. Of course they’re going to blame him if they’re intellectually honest with themselves.

Well, about 2/3rds of Americans aren’t stupid. The other 1/3rd…um.
