Well, Donald Trump got his wish. In a recent poll, 47% hold Trump responsible for the shutdown, while 33% hold democrats responsible. The takeaway I get from this is that more people realize that Trump is the one being unreasonable in this situation. In any case, he said he would own a shutdown, and apparently, the American people are giving him his wish.

Well good. That’s what he wanted. He is proud to bear the mantle of the 2018 Trump Christmas Shutdown. He said so on live TV, for all the world to hear. He wasn’t tricked into saying it, he really really wanted to do it. Winning!!!
Well since he said he would take the blame I’m not sure what those 33% of people are thinking.

The Democrats have zero reason to cave in to the demands of this child. The public isn’t with him on this issue at all. Not even close. Absolutely. The best thing for the current Congress to do is to hold off until the newly elected Congress is seated. Then the will of the people can be implemented.
