What’s wrong with hiring refugees?

What’s wrong with hiring refugees?
More like the CEO got into politics that you didn’t agree with.
True…so why in the world would you choose to divide your market? He wins though…I’m gone.

In the wake of President Donald Trump’s executive order barring immigrants from seven predominately Muslim countries, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz vowed to hire 10,000 refugees globally.
Those countries weren’t just Muslim as this news source stated. They were a source of violent extremism that both Obama and Trump recognized.

What about the context makes it bad to hire refugees?
He said he was going to hire 10,000 people in the 75 countries where they operate.
In the article it states that they would first focus on people who worked with the US military as interpreters and support.
I am still unclear as to why it is bad for a company to hire these people.
True…so why in the world would you choose to divide your market? He wins though…I’m gone.
Have you ever thought that maybe he expanded his market?
He commited to hiring 10k refugees globally, in 17 and I don’t see Bucks hurting now in in 22
Not to mention… left handed Muslims… if ya know what I mean.
Handling the beans.
I just don’t get why people are bent out of shape over 15 bucks an hour. People are going to choose to work for what they want. Businesses can counter in any way they want. But 15 bucks an hour, even though a bit high for certain jobs, is in no way skilled labor pay.

And they couldn’t or wouldn’t vett their people. Those predominantly Muslim countries that had civilized people and had a system allowing credible vetting were not put on the lists. Progs lied when they called it a Muslim ban.

In some states, starting salaries for teachers is not much more. Another reason the federal one-size-fits-all approach is wrong.
The problem is not making profit part. The problem is exploiting employees part.

Minimum wage in 2022 - #14 by Tom_Ch
Personally I don’t care if minimum wage is raised strictly on a state level.
And no one can really stand in judgement of those earning minimum wage. Maybe they got let go and couldn’t find another job, and serving coffee and doughnuts at Dunkin’ has got to be a heck of a lot less awkward on a résumé than having to account for unemployment that went on for longer than three months.
However, complaining about CEO pay is useless as it’s a faulty comparison. Like it or not, the less qualified applicants a position has, the higher the pay, and CEO pay is determined separately than that of an average worker:
Who decides how much a CEO makes?.
I’m not impressed, though, by the ridicule of fast food & other minimum wage workers. At least they’re working and not putting off a search until they get an answer on their application for Unemployment Compensation, or bragging about how much more they made on UI or furlough, or refusing to return until they “feel saaaaaafffffe”, instead peaking out the blinds every so often.
I’d rather have an interesting conversation with the manager at Dollar Tree than with these ■■■■■■■ morons.
That’s why the local fast food places are up to 15an hour to try to lure people out of their houses and back to work.
Everybody has help wanted signs up. I think some of these folks are going to have to get a wee bit hungry before they budge.

Unheard of, right? Companies exploiting vulnerable employees. These snowflakes always crying about something…

‘If you decide to return with your packages, it will be viewed as you refusing your route, which will ultimately end with you not having a job.’

If you are offering good pay, you’ll attract many candidates to choose from. If you offer lousy pay, you’ll get fewer candidates and their work will be lousy.
Instead of crying about no one want to work, think about why they don’t want to work for YOU!

I agree. I’m not one that believes you’re entitled to anything just because you work 40 hours.
Federal one size fits all can’t possibly work for 50 different states. Let the states do what’s best for their state. The Fed. minimum wage is good where it is now. It’s pretty much not getting involved.

You can ignore what I said but guess what’s the only thing that exposes?

You are against hiring of refugees. Then they won’t be working and will be taking government welfare.
Make up your mind.

…and if they aren’t here at all because they’re country is on that list, no problemo…see how that works?
Did you miss the globally part?
Starbucks has close to 400k employees world wide, 10k new hires “pledge” globally is a marketing ploy and I wager it worked.
