I hope somewhere in this administration is a shred of sanity and they are keeping Pence isolated from all this. He may well have to assume the duties of Trump’s office, and with a skeleton crew no less.

FWIW some reporters I respect don’t think too much of Gabriel Sherman’s sourcing habits. I’d take it with a grain of salt until you see it reported elsewhere.
If it makes you feel better, there are people who feel the way you do in the White House. They just don’t have a Trump family connection, since apparently the presidency is now mob family that would make Don Corleone blush and everyone is Fredo.
