McCarthy Threatens Endless War With Conservatives

Do you know of any candidate that would get more votes than McCarthy?

When you get to alternatives…

Either you have McCarthy allies who will never get the MAGA votes.

or you have MAGA folks…who will get the small number of MAGA votes.

Unless you can think of a candidate that appeals to both factions?

Which is the very essence of democracy. Compromise. Neither side likes it, but the job gets done.

So now we may be finding out why Fox News Personalities are attacking loyal, constitutionalist conservatives who are not on board with McCarthy . . . RINO Paul Ryan, who sold out our country countless times and spit on our Constitution while in Congress, could be acting behind the scenes to have conservatives disparaged.

Purity over common sense.

I may piss my fellow “Progs” off- I saw this happen in 2015-16 when the Bernie Bros decided not to vote for Hillary as she was (is) a corporate centrist hack.

But that choice not to vote for her handed the election to Trump which led to the court turning right and Roe v Wade being overturned. Purity politics may have caused abortion to become illegal in half the country.

An ethical news organization would disclose that a lot.

But it’s Fox, so…

Paul Ryan is a clever snake!

I will never forget when Paul Ryan proposed giving line-item veto power to Obama, especially when our Constitution does not permit such an extraordinary power being placed in the President’s hands.

The irrefutable fact is the veto procedure is laid out in crystal clear language in our Constitution. If the president vetoes a bill it is returned to the House that originated the bill with the president’s objections, and the bill [not parts of the bill which the president doesn’t like] is then to be reconsidered and needs a two thirds vote of that House to override the President’s veto which then requires the bill to be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law.

Unfortunately, Paul Ryan is comfortable with taking it upon himself to change the veto procedure outlined in our Constitution and do for the people that which the people have not willingly agreed to do for themselves via our Constitution‘s required amendment process.

Under Ryan’s circumvention of our Constitution, the president is granted extraordinary power to withhold funding for whatever he so desires which not only defies appropriations made by law and undermines the legislative “sausage” making process that created the bill, but as we were warned:

'‘The negative of the governor was constantly made use of to extort money. No good law whatever could be passed without a private bargain with him. An increase of salary or some donation, was always made a condition; till at last, it became the regular practice to have orders in his favor on the treasury presented along with the bills to be signed, so that he might actually receive the former before he should sign the latter. When the Indians were scalping the Western people, and notice of it arrived, the concurrence of the governor in the means of self-defense could not be got, until it was agreed that the people were to fight for the security of his property, whilst he was to have no share of the burdens of taxation.’’ ___ SEE: Benjamin Franklin, June 4 of the Constitutional Convention

Paul Ryan also alleges that “Congress has the power to enact this legislation pursuant to the following: Article I, Section 9, Clause 7.” which has nothing to do with the allowable veto power procedure which is articulated in Article 1, Section 7, Clause 2.

Paul Ryan, in my opinion, is a clever snake and part of our GLOBAL GOVERNANCE CROWD

JWK

“If the Constitution was ratified under the belief, sedulously propagated on all sides, that such protection was afforded, would it not now be a fraud upon the whole people to give a different construction to its powers?”___ Justice Story

The political establishment is screaming loudly and all you have to do is listen, as they expose themselves.

Please understand this is not really about MAGA.
McCarthy is at the extreme left edge of the GOP. He tried and failed to become speaker more than a decade ago. That time the gavel went to Paul Ryan who was more moderate (more conservative.)

Dem talking points are ALWAYS repeated in the media as unchallenged indisputable fact. In this case is to describe this battle as “MAGA vs everyone.” Such is not the case, but if they (the Dems) win then they get the most liberal House Speaker they could possibly hope for.

Don Bacon has exhibited on Fox News how deeply entrenched the Washington swamp is, and also exposes a traitorous RINO willing to suck up to the communist/socialist Democrat leadership. .

BTW, the only reason why McCarthy has so many votes, is because the Republic Party is infested with RINO’s and Democrats who have managed to fool voters into believing they are Republicans.

The premise that McCarthy is “at the extreme left edge” of the GOP is ludicrious.

Your link even makes that clear:

Members of Congress with party leadership roles often do not participate in the legislative process in the same way as other Members of Congress. Since McCarthy was busy being House Minority Leader, the metrics of legislative activity listed below may not apply.

McCarthy simply needs to find a smart way to blame the Dimbulbcrats for everything. Other than Jeffries becoming Speaker? The Dims are aligned under one “never work with Republicans” flag. ■■■■ ‘em.

Washington’s swamp and shadow government has infiltrated the Republican Party to such a degree that it now has enough power to impose its will regardless of how the people vote. Don Bacon has finally shown he is part of the swamp.

Liz Cheney had a 71% score, much better than McCarthy. Ironic isn’t it?

What’s so funny to watch about all this is how predictable it all is.

As far ideology, everybody in the GOP house is on the same page, they’re all about tax cuts for the donor class and punching hippies. There isn’t an ideological divide.

What they’re fighting over is the limits of sharing power.

Democrats don’t do this because they understand the Constitution and how Congress works. When Dems are in the minority, they don’t try to take the country hostage and think they can enact their agenda while in the minority (except for all the times Freedom Caucus vandals force the GOP to cross the aisle for votes, giving Dems a lot of what they could never get in the minority).

Republiconservareactionaries, both in Congress and the voting base, don’t think like that. They think they’re going to advance their agenda when they’re in the minority and especially when there is a Democratic president.

Among the modern poisonous Republican trends Newt Gingrich started was shutting down the government while in the minority to try to force Clinton hand’s to cut capital gains taxes and cuts to Medicare. Twice Republicans shut down the government while in the minority to try to force Obama to throw out the ACA.

When in a minority, Democrats hold firm to prevent the advance of Republican legislative goals, while Republicans fracture. When in power, Democrats have to deal with the demands of its various constituencies and can be like herding cats.

Republicans have a strong tendency to make ever more fevered demands when they’re in the minority, always looking for maximum confrontation, usually with leaders of their own party. This plays well with the “fighting for you” rubes at home but it weakens the GOP as an effective governing body. They’re angry at the reality of having to share power, ever, and they take it out on their own leadership.

Newt got shoved aside for failing to get rid of Clinton, Boehner and Ryan pushed into retirement. Republicans in the House (actually all of Congress and their voters) simply don’t believe they should have to share power either in the minority or majority, at their core.

It frustrates me watching and listening Fox News and their seemingly blind support for Kevin McCarthy. I hear statements such as, “There are 20 members of Congress holding back the conservative agenda and the business of the nation.” If that perspective is true then it is also true that there is one person holding us back and that is Kevin McCarthy. It also frustrated me when I watched Hannity last night make the statement that he will personally hold Kevin McCarthy accountable if he doesn’t follow through on his promises. I appreciate Sean willing to do that, but the fact is Sean has not been able accelerate consequences for anyone or situation that he’s tried to hold accountable. Benghazi - nobody was held accountable. Hillary and the server and several other crooked things she did - nothing happened. Shifty Schiff is still doing what he always has done. Biden… Hunter… Russia Hoax… And the list goes on of tough talk and no prosecutions. The only thing that did happen is me getting further disillusioned and angry. The fact is if McCarthy’s feet aren’t held in the fire now then he’ll be able to do whatever he wants to no matter how often or how loud me or Sean or anyone else screams about it.

The American Conservative Union is the gold standard for conservative ratings and has been for 50 years. ACU has McCarthy is not “left” by any stretch of the imagination, Over 84% using the one conservative rating service that matters.

It is MAGA that simply can’t stand the thought of power sharing, even when they’re in the minority. Intractable wingnuts that have zero interest in governing, looking for their next social media endorphin hit.

Its okay to spout spin, but you have obviously fallen for it.
A.) Long before MAGA was invented the GOP nixed him as speaker for being too liberal. Ergo, rejecting him now is NOT a new small wing it is the way it has been for decades.

and
B.) govtrack.us rates ONLY ONE GOP house member as further left than McCarthy. Heck nearly a third of all Dems are rated to his right. I will post the link again.
Report Cards for 2020 - Ideology Score - House Republicans - GovTrack.us

and
C.) Heritage points out he voted with his party only 53% of the time (flip of the coin)
The average House member votes along party lines 89% of the time.(another reposted link)

Why should the GOP elect a leader that is as far left as you can possibly get i the GOP? Why not elect someone from the middle of their party?
Why is it that voting the same now as a decade ago has become “Only the MAGA wing is doing it they are holding America hostage?”

Your feelings are the same as mine were when Paul Ryan was Speaker of the House and constantly gave the finger to our Constitution, the rule of law and protecting our border.
