Matt Gaetz under federal investigation for relationship with underaged girl

According to Fox, some anonymous Republican Senators are saying Gaetz will never be confirmed.
Gaetz has already resigned from congress.
You don’t suppose Trump insisted he resign to be nominated, do you?

Hmmmm……chess?

I’m shocked that Trump selected him for AG. I would be even more shocked if he is confirmed. Something about this just doesn’t pass the smell test.

Recess confirmation.

I think it’s only good for 6 months. But Gaetz can get lot done, and possibly getting few investigations started.

Matthew Whitaker was a temp AG under Trump…

So I heard on the radio this AM, Gaetz’s ethics report was to be released friday.

Him resigning yesterday means that report won’t be released. but it could be used in confirmation hearings.

Why are people afraid? If they’ve done nothing wrong no problem. He’ll just look silly! Garland is completely corrupt. Can’t get any worse than him.

I bet he finds the laptop, or figures out who “lost” it, lol!

If Hunter is pardoned, which is likely, then it becomes moot.

the biden impeachment is gone, no more talk of hunter.

It’s almost as if the GOP committees were just using their power for politicl purposes.

What you’re complaining about what the GOP did to biden when the democrats did the exact same thing to trump? You do know what they call people like you don’t you?
I am sure you will be condemning the democrats in the future for investigating members of the opposing party.
Seems like you are saying the Gaetz has done nothing wrong. That the democrats only want to cause him problems because they don’t want him to do to them what they have done to other members of the GOP.

Can you name a committee investigation into trump that had no merit and disappeared the minute it was clear he lost the election?

Both parties are guilty of using their power for political purposes. That is exactly why I believe we will be seeing a lot of impeachments on both sides going forward.

Russia collusion front and center.

Didn’t that end with the Mueller report? It didn’t just disappear, it played out and they didn’t find enough. One could argue the Biden impeachment inquiry thing played out too with the report they released.

I think this word mass was it

All the investigations. Russia russia russia Mueller investigation all nothing but a circus of lies bought and paid for by the dnc.
Two impeachments big nothing burgers and a waste of time and money because democrats were angry at the voters.
Jan 6 clown show nothing more than a democrat campaign ad that the tax payers paid for.
Jailing grandma because she supported trump. The democrats showed that they were the ones pushing grandma off the cliff.
Investigating church’s and parents at school board meetings people praying in front of abortion clinics. Showed just how the dnc would go after voters who dared oppose them.
Then all of a sudden they all disappeared until the hint that trump was going to run again came out. The biden ordered the DOJ to make sure trump stayed in his place. What’s funny is the left made themselves look like fascists in their attempt to stay in power by using lawfare.
And you cheered their evil all the way.

That didn’t end the minute trump was not a viable cabinet. That ended with a lengthy report and several successful prosecutions.

It also mirrored some of the conclusions of the bipartisan committee in the senate that took up the question of russian collusion.

I was looking for something like Comer’s impeachment inquiry which vanished the minute biden dropped out.

Release the report.

I don’t think the Senate is going to accept Gaetz.

Neither do I.

As much as I think Trump has an iron grip on the party, because Gaetz is so blatantly unfit for the role, we might see enough Republican senators vote against Gaetz a) because they do not believe he is fit for the role and b) its an easy opportunity for senators to flex their muscles.
