Immigrants adapt and assimilate to a large degree.

Immigrants do it legally and with respect. They ask.
Transplants flood in and are very, very selfish. They demand.
I agree now that the situation may be overwhelming and something needs to be done but the past liberal attitudes towards immigration has only gone and made you the worlds superpower in a very short space of time.
So it hardly destroyed the country.

When your country is overwhelmed with immigrants from Eastern Europe and the Middle East, perhaps you’ll have a better understanding of the cultural problems caused by transplants who refuse to assimilate into your culture.
