Marines urged to stop using “Sir and Ma’am”?

Don’t confuse observing customs and courtesy protocols with respect.

When it comes to this social engineering crap we are seeing, it comes down from the appointed and elected civilian leadership. They dictate policy down, the uniformed services don’t dictate up, they can only recemmond, and in this case, be ignored in the name of emotional symbolic firsts and woke DEI.

Obviously, the Marine Corps should be focusing it’s efforts on training Marines to be less offensive…

…rather than that whole outdated idea about destroying enemies.

More “Chesty” and “Howling Mad” and a lot less of what ever they have now.

They have nothing now, that’s the problem.

My Uncle Andrew was 1st Mar Div at Guadalcanal. My Uncle Jackson was part of a Marine Gun Crew off Guadalcanal and then at a very cold place in Korea. My son in law was at Fallujah. I worked with a lot of Marines as Ci. I made sure their MEU CI team had everything I could give them when the MEU came ashore. I know what Marines are. The posers allowing this stuff aren’t Marines.

Ha! my marine nephew just shared this story on his IG story and commented another reason to get out with a laughing crying emoji.

That’s what I mean by they have nothing. There are no more Chestys or his like. There are only those who will do nothing that may upset their careers.

My family had four generations of Marines…grandfathers, fathers, uncles, cousins, nephews, myself included. There was a sense that meant something to us that is no longer what it was.

Can’t get past the wall to read the whole article without answering their poll questions. What are they being instructed to call their superiors?

Those in power are nothing without the “little people” to command. Don’t send them anymore people. It’s not like the latte libs are going to join and pick up the guns.

"Instead of saying ‘ma’am’ or ‘sir,’ recruits in these Services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names”

I believe that “yes Sergeant” and “no Sergeant” have always been the proper address for drill instructors.

What if they are in combat and officers have covered their rank?

People quit bad bosses.

Do you remember Lieutenant/Captain Sobel (played by David Schwimmer) in Band of Brothers? None of his subordinates respected him regardless of his rank.

Lol you don’t know what you are talking about. That doesn’t show he was opposed to the direction of the Marines when he started and still made it. He made it that far by agreeing with that crap. If he was an advocate against he would not have made it, and yes I do know that for a fact.

All fine and dandy. Phsae II, how are the officers going to address the enlisted Marines?

You know, for equity. Enlisted are oppressed.

I’m thinking “king” and “queen”?

I think “maggots” is neutral, isn’t it?
